RE: Our first, and last, TT rental experience

Dang, I have owned three trailers. All of them have developed some problem or another.
I have owned probably twenty vehicles. all of them have had one problem or another.
I have owned four homes. All of them has developed one problem or another.
I have had three wives, all of them developed one problem or another
Life ain't problem free, when they are your own problems they are not as serious as problems caused by others.

RE: Coal-Rolling Teen Pickup Truck Driver Hits Six Cyclists

As a cyclist I have been smoked out by diesels, cussed at, called odd names, had glass bottles thrown at me on multiple occasions, swerved into on purpose and narrowly missed, and a few other things. I am very conscious about how and if I impact traffic so I always make a habit of riding on roads with wide shoulders. Once I was with my family, my son was 10 at the time and someone threw bottles at us. For no reason. I simply don't get the angst of some people toward cyclists, especially if they aren't impacting their ability to drive. Why the hate? I get that there are some cyclists with a sense of entitlement that help foster this angst. But it's a very few. Most of these instances are people that harass cyclists for fun.
OK I have my flame suit on.First off, there is absolutely no justification for this kids actions or any other violence against bikers, BUTI live in an area wher bicycling is a thing. The roads are filthy with Lance Armstrong wantabbe's that ride several abreast in the lane ignore every traffic rule ever thought off, Run stop signs en masse. A single riger is normally not a problem, but when the clubs ride and twenty or thirty, think they are in competition they have no respect for the real purpose of the roads.
Call me a hater!

RE: Our first, and last, TT rental experience

Consider it a preview of what you will be up against if/when you buy your own unit.
No,If it was their own trailer, the mess either would not be there, or cleaned up when it happened. The black tank would have been clean, the fridge would have been running and cool, the maintenance and repair would have been completed.
Rental experience is not at all equal to ownership!

RE: Remembering my best physical condition

My best years were between mid thirties and fifty.I may have been stronger and faster a few years younger, but with maturity I grew a brain that eliminated the need to be the strongest and fastest. I just became the smartest and most efficient.
Near twenty years peak of physical and mental prowess.

RE: Coffee Survey

Indian Monsooned Malabar is a taste you have to try. Needs to be roasted just into 2nd crack, and then rested three days to bring out the nuances.
Source for Indian coffee pls?
Sweet Marias.com San Francisco or Berkeley can't remember which. Good service.
There are several other green bean purveyors, just google green coffee

RE: Catalytic converter anti-theft

I have insurance. I also live in an area where crime is not rampant,we have excellent laws that demand positive ID and photographs for every pawn shop or scrap yard transaction.
Feel bad for the majority of you that seem to be living in fear of the next crime.

RE: Coffee Survey

Like I said,Do you like coffee or just drink it.
For those that just drink it (grocery Kuerig instant) just once go to a local coffee shop,Certainly not a charbucks or other chain, ask for a single origin cup,and then you will find what coffee should taste like.

RE: Pet peeve, neighbors leave porch light on

Of course lights are 100% acceptable when you are out and active. When you retire for the night just turn them off.
Don't understand why folks like light. Darkness is our friend. I like it when the bad guys bang their shins and trip over stuff trying to get to my gear. Why should I light the way to their paradise?

RE: Front Bunk Door Woes - Finding the Right Parts

You need to be more specific. What brand and model do you own? Which seals and "things" do you need?
Unless you can purchase from the manufacturer you quest will take research of the google variety.
It is doubtful, to me anyway, that Rv manufacturers design their own seals just not the volume to justify one off design.
Trim lok seemsto make a variety. Check Grainger and Amazon for matching seals.

1/2 ton.3/4 ton,1 ton, will be the same driveline wise.
Only difference being the differential ratios. Most often the engine is even detuned on 3/4 and above!

One more thing to concern yourself about. Many small vehicles such as yours, also have front face square footage limits.

RE: Extended Warranty: Why do I need it?

Always see what the dealer can offer in financing. My DIL is loan officer at a bank and they could not come close to the dealers rate. Loan companies often offer tremendous incentives to dealers.

Other than the box,RV,s are component construction. Each supplier warranties it,s own component.

RE: Need help - Weight distribution hitch installation pics

Looks to me like you are nose down on the trailer. Try flip your stinger and adjust to level your trailer. Also looks like you are in the outer hole on the stinger, possibly because your spare is in the way? Longer the fulcrum the more bob.
Also how many miles on the truck? Original shocks could be worn?

RE: Does the Color of an HD Pickup Make a Difference?

I wish someone could demonstrate the used price differential between colors.
Is a dealer going to offer less on green trade in as opposed to a white one? If so how much?
To me logically if the second owner was that particular, he would buy new and order what he wants.
If he does not have the credit or financial wherewithal to buy new,I doubt color actually figures into the equation for the majority of second owners and none of the third.
