RE: Tire Replacement Question

you could order tires online from tire rack, have the sent to your house and, like the others have said, take 2 off and have them mounted and balanced. and then the other 2. i got my gy endurance at a truck tire place that also services cars. they had plenty of room.

RE: Looking for reliable travel trailer

I would find out your tow veh. limits, subtract about 20 percent and then go to RV shows and see what suits your fancy.

RE: Jayco or Grand Design

since GD is part of winnebago, have you looked at winnebago TT? just food for thought.

RE: Help me plan my trip please! RI, DE and MD

can't help you with RI, but Delaware I would say Indian River Inlet at Delaware Seashore State Park. campground is a little nicer and newer on the north side of the bridge. As for Maryland, I'd go a little further south to Chincoteague, Va. to Toms Cove. I have 2 younger brothers each have their own tt and families, and we use these parks every year. Toms cove does not take plastic. they will make reservations and take a check. have fun.

RE: GMC/Silverado 2500 Gas

Poorboy, Was your younger brother towing their 5k trailer, or were they empty? I am in the same boat as the op and I am trying to determine whether I go diesel or gas. Thanks he was towing a 5k lb. tt on his trip and he also has a very heavy foot.

RE: GMC/Silverado 2500 Gas

Cliffy49, my younger brother just bought a leftover 2020 gmc 2500 with all the bells and whistles. it even has trailer tire pressure monitoring. it has the 6.6 gas and his tt is around 5k pounds. he and his wife took it from northern delaware to inglis, fl. for their anniversary. he said he got around 11 mpg. which is pretty good since the truck isn't broken in. if i were to buy a truck now, i would go for gas. good luck with whatever you decide, oh, by the way, he was a ford guy, which is not a bad thing. if you ask me, i don't think you can go wrong with any of the big 3, jmho.

winnebago travel trailer

came across a winnebago travel trailer at my jayco dealer. the model is voyage 2831rb. I like the floorplan and I know winnebago has been around for a long time doing motorhomes. I was wondering if anybody has a late model winnebago tt that could tell me the good, the bad, the ugly on it. thanks in advance.

RE: marker lights to led marker lights

sorry folks, didn't mean to start all of this. I do agree that the LED lights inside are too bright, I do prefer the softer regular lights for inside (just my preference). As a retired trucker, I would like LEDs outside. Thanks for all the input.

marker lights to led marker lights

would like to change the marker lights and tail lights on the trailer to LED marker lights. has anyone done this, is it a matter of just changing the light fixture or is there more involved like changing the wiring. the LED lights are much brighter and therefore safer.

RE: Finally took delivery!

looks very nice, I like door to door awnings, that's where I spend most of my time. Enjoy

RE: New trailer

nice to have bath close to door so when your outside you don't track all the way through the trailer. but, I'm also one for not having any utilities in a slideout. the kitchen counter looks to be a nice size, wish i had that in mine. i also like the fact that there is no slides on curbside so you can enjoy the awning.

RE: new roof

John, thanks for the input, I will wait and see what they say on 12-8 and yes there labor rate is more than $115 per hour. nothing is cheap in the Philadelphia area. like i said before, i would like it done and done right so i can enjoy it a few more years. the area is between the a/c and antenna, not at either end of the trailer. thought about getting a new one, but it seems the new ones have issues as well. thanks again.

RE: new roof

thanks for all the input, but the $7k was just a ballpark #. I have an appointment Dec. 8th for the techs to physically look at the roof and give me a firm estimate. I do plan on keeping this trailer for years to come, so I guess it will pay in the long run to fix it right. as I said before, it is paid for and this would be cheaper than buying a new trailer. thanks again.

new roof

the dealer said i needed a new roof. there is a soft area between the a/c and by the antenna. this trailer is only 6 years old and mostly sits in my driveway, very few miles. this is my 3rd trailer and have never replace a roof. no signs of any leaks inside at all. the dealer said they can not spot repair roof but would remove the rubber roof, replace the plywood decking as needed, and install new rubber roof. my question to the veteran rv'ers, is this correct? the ballpark number is around $7,000.00 has anybody been through this, is this for real. i love my trailers floorplan and since it is paid for, i would like to keep it. the dealer is a quality dealer, i've not heard anything bad about them, but the voices of experience carries alot of weight not to mention wisdom. thanks in advance for your thoughts.
