Monitoring Temp while away

We always worry about leaving our dogs when we go out to dinner or appointments. A couple of months ago, I purchased a thermometer that has alarms that will come to your phone. It has been so nice to be able to check the temp back at the camper and know that everything is alright. Here is what we have been using: GoVee Wireless Thermometer Hope this helps some of you.

RE: Long distance tank disposal

I'm currently just over 185 feet to the sewer connection with just a slight downward slope. We use the FloJet Portable Macerator and 2 cheap 5/8" water hose. Used it like this for just over a year and once you have the process figured out, it's a pretty simple procedure. My first method was the blue tote; but now it's my backup that I hope I don't need. Good Luck!

RE: Refrigerator Outside Vents

OP here. Like always appreciate the feedback. I should have mentioned that I did fill space with a bat of insulation that ends at the edge of the fridge. So, there is no dead air space. As for the heat dissipating from the fins; I agree that the lower board directed the fan across it. But I have a hard time seeing that a fan in a enclosed space is more effective than a fan that is still focused on the fins with more access to air flow. The fan is still 6-7 inches below the edge of the board, so I don't feel like the air flow or direction was really affected. But I'm always open to you guys with the positive feedback and directions.

Refrigerator Outside Vents

I have a Wolfpack 325 pack 13. The cabinets over fridge held a lot of heat and the freezer was just ok. Noticed a wasp flying around the external vents and thought I better check for nest. Pulled the top vent cover and was surprised to see that the wall covering came up over the fridge heat dissipater and there was a board across the top blocking airflow (pictures explain better) anyway there was only about a 3 inch gap for the heat to exhaust. I made some modifications and Wow, the difference was immediate. The aux fan had even shut off before I had things cleaned up and back together. It's worth a look to pop off that top vent cover and check.

RE: Dometic AC compressor

Thanks guys. That was all I could think of also. And DFord is correct, a new upper unit is about the same pricing. Next question, can I install the 15Kbtu in place of our 13.5Kbtu; without making any electrical changes?

RE: Dometic AC compressor

And right back where I started. Ran well off/on the first night and part of the next day. Then it started making the same noise as before.

RE: Dometic AC compressor

Well, the part came in and after installing; it seems to have helped the issue. Multiple startups and no more noises. It's been running about 5 hrs now and all is good. I did capture video of the unit before the fix and I'll see if I can post. Thanks for all the input.

RE: Dometic AC compressor

So, my part was on back-order and just came in today. I'll be installing tonight and see if there is any difference.

RE: Dometic AC compressor

Really appreciate the quick replies and it seems the pricing on the hard starts units are not too bad; so I'll give that a try. Thanks again and I'll update sometime this coming weekend.

Dometic AC compressor

On our bedroom AC unit when you first turn it on, you can hear it click and the fan starts, then it seems like it lugs down trying to start the compressor. It will then run for about 3 mins and then makes a very loud noise. I took the top cover off and cleaned all around, even brushing the fins with a tool. Had my wife turn it on with me on the roof and the noise is clearly coming from the compressor. I read something about a "kick-start" or "hot start" option for compressors and I wanted to get your opinions. I'm on the house hookup with a dedicated circuit and surge/drop protector, power is not the issue. It happens at 72 or 95 degrees outside. Yes it's out of warranty by a few months. Thanks in advance for reading all the way through.
