RE: My perception on real gas

I find if I just wash the windshield I can see further down the road. Somehow I therefore must be getting better mileage.

RE: Overnighting on 6 HWY Neveda

Stayed at the "Little A'LE'INN" in Rachel om hwy 6 many years ago. They actually had about three or four RV spots out back of the restaurant. Kinda eerie tho:E Don't know if they still have those spots.

RE: potty without the rv

Thanks to all who responded and will still. Some humorous and some helpful. We're talking about driving in our car or truck, not wanting to tow the Aliner every where we go when the (#2) urge hits an 89 year old woman so most of the do "it bury it" aren't the solution I'm looking for, maybe there isn't one. Anyway, i had a good laugh at some of your replies but then I suppose it "depends" on ones sense of humor. Happy day to all, hope everyone has a great new year. Lee

potty without the rv

Not sure where to post this but wondering what folks do when traveling on remote roads with few or no bathroom facilities available and a sudden urge to p*%p strikes and the need is urgent. We find the older we get the more this develops into an emergency. Situation. Would you haul around a small pop trailer (like an Aliner)? We can't be the only people that have this happen, how do you handle this? I know some will find humor in this but for some this is a real world problem. I thank you in advance. Lee

RE: How to deal with grease on ball of receiver

I've used a Styrofoam coffee cup for years. Stays on the ball going down the road and exceptionally cheap:B

RE: Another Rear End Accident Story

^Hes not behind, he’s ahead of the game.. No one is saying the OP needs to cash in on a fraudulent claim but if you think the insurance companies are going to be upfront honest and giving, you must have had a better experience than I with insurance companies. It’s called fight fire with fire. My mama taught me two wrongs don't make a right

RE: Tire Rotation Not Needed?

Silly me, I thought it might also have something to do with safety

RE: Tire Rotation Not Needed?

I agree with the service writer. I want the tires with the most tread on the back because they are the drive tires and wear the fastest. When towing the drive tires wear the fastest by a long shot. Showing my age but back in the day, we were always told the best tires should be on on the front. Rear tires don't steer in wet weather and blow outs on the front are far more catastrophic. By rotating tires wear even.

RE: Tire Rotation Not Needed?

Sounds like a lazy service dept. I get my vehicles serviced Every 6 months and may only have 2 or 3 thousand miles, they rotate tires every time. Rotating keeps wear even and tread edges from rounding off.

Season's over

Well, the season has has come to a close, at least for us. Life is full of season's, one ends, another begins. We've both been camping for about 68 years and now because of my back issues and her dementia, our camping (life) season is coming to an end. The trailer goes up for sale this week and a season of day trips here and there begins. I've enjoyed the help and information gained on this site as well as your banter and humor. I'll be lurking in the shadows and living vicariously through all of your adventures. This is a hard season of life to close after so many years. Happy trails and good life to you all. Lee and Jane

RE: Good Sam roadside failed us again!!!!

I like the way everyone wants to let GS off the hook and blame the victim. GS has a responsibility to provide proper, safe service and is responsible to make sure their providers are up to the job. Granted, the op should have refused the service but we are, in my opinion, entitled to get what we paid for.

RE: Older Dog and Night time

She could be sensing something wrong with you, like the start of cancer from smoking or some other issue starting up. Excellent point! Don't ignore that. Been seeing just that on "Animal Miracles" where animals sense illnesses in humans.

RE: Disclosure when selling

Yep, you need to disclose what you know. When I bought my latest trailer (private party) I was assured the roof had always been maintained and sealed on a regular basis, also that the wheel bearings had recently been serviced. I wish he had been truthful. I found some really weak spots in the roof as well as a tear over one of the rotted spots, and the bearings were not done. I will probably sell the trailer next year as age is catching up to us and I will disclose the damage, as stated elsewhere I like to sleep at night and its the right thing to do even tho I know I'll take a financial hit. treat others as you would like to be treated.

RE: Tire Dealer trying to sell me older tires, what do I do?

I always ask my tire dealer for tires not older than 6 months, never been a problem getting them.
