RE: black strips on roof

Probably the roof cross members (aluminum?) causing condensation on roof allowing mildew to form. Like others have said don't bother with trying to clear it off. I don't recommend scrubbing any RV roof. Ron W.

RE: 5.9 Cummins Diesel Towing capacity

I agree with 1200 as the max. Sometimes I wish I had a manual to make it easier to switch to a particular gear rather than playing with the overdrive button. Ron

RE: 5.9 Cummins Diesel Towing capacity

What would you guys call a safe max EGT temperature? My 03 Cummins 5.9 is equipped with heavy duty (triple disc/solid billit shaft) 47RE tranny, 4" exhaust, modified air intake and tuner. Thanks Ron W

RE: Soft spots in floors

Sorry to hear about those soft spots, I hate to say it but I'll bet it's not related to water coming from the windows or roof. Chances are it's from the wheel wells, entrance door or outdoor kitchen. No matter, your camper will be either replaced or sent back to the factory. They have a new facility just to handle these floor replacements. Being out of warranty you have a long uphill battle to get it done under warranty, this is where your dealer has to step up the plate. Where exactly are the soft spots? Ron W.

RE: Finished installing Kodiak 6K disc brakes

No delay at all on my 6k brake conversion. Running Prodigy P3. Ron W.

RE: Anyone have Keystone cougar 30RLS?

If I were you I'd wait until the 2021's are out, unless you can be assured that it has the "new" waterproof flooring system. Keystone had to do something because of the problem with their older foam core floors rotting away. Do a Google search for that or search here, there are plenty of threads on this problem and the difficulty in repairing this issue. Ron W.

RE: Fresh Tank Filling on City Water

Yes, the backflow valve is in the pump, found that on some YouTube videos. I looked at a post that mentioned running lots of water using the pump and sure enough after 10 minutes of continuous flow from multiple faucets the valve must have reseated and the water stopped entering the fresh water tank. RE: Fresh Tank Filling on City Water

Timely post, my wife just noticed our fresh tank is full, it had been at one quarter. We also have water coming out of the fresh water fill. I don't have a select valve for moving water into the fresh tank so the problem has to be a check valve in the pump? I'm assuming it's at the output side of the pump. Thanks Ron W.

RE: Any new options for casting from a mobile device to a TV?

If you cant use Chromecast use Screenbeam, it's like Chromecast but connects via Wifi direct to the Screenbeam HDMI adapter. This is a direct wifi connection, you are not creating a wifi network. You select "Smartview" (Miracast) on your phone, after you load the Screenbeam software, and off you go. Whatever is on the screen of your phone goes directly to your TV screen. I use it for Netflix, YouTube etc. when my Hot Spot data limit gets low. Ron W

RE: Found a new way to test brake wiring and magnets

That is what I love about my Prodigy P3. It has a diagnostic function that I use every morning before I start a trip. With four brakes I have found it is 1 amp per volt applied. My max setting when I use the manual lever is 7.5 volts thus I should read about 7.5 amps with full lever travel for my setting. How do you initiate this test, or is done automatically on power up? Ron W.

RE: Deep cycle battery for AC?

You're talking about a $6,000 plus investment in Lithium batteries, solar panels, inverter, solar charge controllers and a complicated mess of wiring to run an AC for just one night of cooling. And if the sun isn't shining the next day you better have a $2,000 generator to recharge your batteries. Ron W.

RE: RV Ovens

I had a 17" RV oven in our MH and used both a pizza stone and a 'air bake' cookie sheet with fair results. My friend purchased a new "Grand Design" 5th wheel with a 22" Furrion oven. The Furrion had a piezo igniter and a oven light, plus it was 4" taller. Last year I removed my old oven and installed a new Furrion. It is truly a great oven, no leaks and lights without getting on the floor. I lost 4" of pan storage space but the new oven cooks just like my oven at home. Love our Furion oven, especially the glass door. We hang an analog temp gauge from the wire rack and can see the exact inside temperature. It has a nice inside light and oven piezo starter. Ron W. Ron, does your Furrion have the fan in it? I hate that SOB when I'm trying to start the oven but assume it helps even heat during baking. I wish it could come on when the oven reaches set temperature instead of during pilot light. No fan in my oven. I could see how one would effect pilot light. Ron W.

RE: refrigerator iceing up

I have a Norcold model 1200 series fridge, and all of sudden the fins in the fridge part are iceing up. I completely defrosted it and put in a fridge fan.....still iceing up. Anyone have any ideas why? or what I should do? Leaky door seal?..You could be getting warm air and humidity bypassing a seal somewhere. Ron W

RE: Stranded/broke down

Clogged fuel filter? My guess too....easy to change, 10 minutes if an 03 with external pump. Ron W.

Rv Trip Wizard question

How can I get a trip I planned on Trip Wizard onto my cell phone and use the planned trip on Google Maps. I don't have a standalone GPS nor do I have a Computer, we only have our phones and a 10" Galaxy Tablet running Android 7. Thanks Ron W.
