RE: Dometic refrigerator frost and ice

To: wa8xym - I remember my mom defrosting the freezer when I was growing up. She set up a small fan in the door and would scrap the frost and ice out. No ice maker in the freezer in my RV.

LOL.... I'm not a youngster, 63 years old here. However, this is my first RV. Thanks for the info.

So I need to just defrost manually when necessary?

RE: Dometic refrigerator frost and ice

I am in FL. The seals don't look like they need to be replaced. I didn't know if this was normal for an RV refrig or not.

Dometic refrigerator frost and ice

I bought a used 2018 Prime Time Tracer TT in April. Only used it on weekends initially. Moved into it full time a month ago. I'm getting frost in the freezer on the back wall and ice on the fins in the refrigerator. Is this normal and do I just need to defrost it? Or does the seal need to be replaced on both? This is my first RV. Thanks for your help.

RE: Attaching a satellite to the top of a TT

On my trailer there is an outside connection labeled Satellite and another right next to it labeled Cable. I've tried connecting the satellite cable to both and it doesn't work on either one. Don't know if there is a splitter or not, just know that it doesn't work. On the inside of the trailer there is a connection for the antenna that's on the roof, that works, as I used it prior to getting the satellite. There is another connection on the wall, it's not marked. I assume it's for either satellite or cable. I'll have to check on getting the kit to put in the wall. Would be so much easier than running the cable through the entry door.

RE: Smallest RV anyone has full timed in?

I don't doubt I will be able to handle living in my 28'. I think it is more getting rid of all the stuff I've accumulated over all the years. I have gone through stuff several times and still need to go through them again to get rid of more stuff. It's the letting go that I am having difficulty with.

RE: Smallest RV anyone has full timed in?

IDman: My daughter was staying in a campground in Naples, FL about a year ago. There was a couple that had a Casita that they were full timing in and said they loved it. Wonder if it was the same couple. I don't remember where she said they are originally from.

Smallest RV anyone has full timed in?

I am curious as to how small an RV anyone has full timed in. How many people lived in it, how did you handle it. I have a 28' TT, I am by myself, no pets. I have owned the TT since April and have used it for weekend getaways. I want to retire, but am one of those that would have to work part time in order to survive. I have found a part time job, have applied for social security and will get my first check in February 2021. I start the part time job right after Christmas. I have been going through everything, getting rid of all the stuff I don't need, don't use, won't fit in the TT. For some reason I am just a little apprehensive about everything. It's a major life change but have to do this also for some health reasons. I need to have a job that is far less stressful. My current job has caused me to have high blood pressure and increased heart rate. Need to slow down and relax.

RE: Attaching a satellite to the top of a TT

Diamond c:. It works great with one issue. I have to connect the cable directly to Wally through the entry door. For some reason it will not work when the cable is connected to the satellite port on the outside of the TT. I have tried to connect it to both the satellite and cable port on the outside of the TT but it won't work. My TT is a 2018 Prime Time Tracer Air. I have read where others have had the same issue.

Attaching a satellite to the top of a TT

Does anyone know of a way I can attach a Dish Playmaker satellite to the top of my TT without attaching it permanently? I am going to be in an RV park for a long a term period. Want to have the satellite out all the time but worried it might get stolen. Is there any way I can attach it to the top of the TT to keep the wind from blowing it off but it would more out of sight? I don't want to attach it permanently. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
