RE: New camper with very little info on it.

How many dump valves? If two it has separate gray and black tanks.

RE: Bring beer into Canada

Sorry, way off topic, but this reminds me of a famous quote: "24 cans in a case; 24 hours in a day. Coincidence? I think not" Does that mean 30 packs are for Daylight Savings? :B :B Never thought of that

RE: Bring beer into Canada

Buy at the duty free when coming north, our liquor prices will scare you. You can bring more but the duty on the excess won't make it worthwhile.

RE: Rig is unlevel with truck

Don't worry about it. The trailer will never be be perfectly level when being towed, roads are not flat. Older fridges tended to be fussy when trying to light if not leveled but technology has improved.

RE: 2000 Fleetwood Camper - Owner's Manual?

Welcome aboard!! You won't find a manual for the camper because it doesn't exist. Each appliance had one from the manufacturer, information can be had online with the make and model.

RE: Overhang

Wow! That is one long moho and having the trailer makes a bad situation worse. The coach manufacturer needs a longer wheelbase chassis and shorten the frame.

RE: 2018 GMC Sierra Towing

Welcome aboard! What is the GCWR rating on the truck door sticker and what are you towing? It may be as simple as reloading the trailer to shift weight.

RE: Places to stay in BC

How far are you willing to go off the highway? There are many forest service campgrounds that are little more than clearings in the bush beside a lake or stream but the roads can be rough. Check out Okanagan Lake Provincial Park and Kekuli Bay Provincial Park, no hookups but very clean and the views are stunning.

RE: Old Fashioned Custard Pie

That sounds really good.

RE: Using Propane while traveling in BC - Not Legal

Can you point us to the source of your information? If it were the case commercial 'reefers' would be in violation. I leave ours on to run the fridge and hot water tank then switch to shore power at night to conserve gas.

RE: Pulling with a Ram 2500

Measure from the center of the receiver and from the bottom of the level trailer coupler to the ground. The difference should give you a good idea of what you need. Or just back the truck up to the trailer and eyeball the difference.

RE: Generator Obsrevations.

The better inverter generators are sweet, clean power and super quiet but that comes with a hefty price tag. Camper #2 probably had an imported open frame construction type unit, cheap but noisy.

RE: Travel to the USA

We were checked once in all the times we travelled to the U.S., she confiscated a tomato.:R Best not to have fresh produce or meat which is cheaper south of the border even with the unfavorable exchange rate. We once got asked if the dog food contained goat or lamb. Pardon???

RE: Motor homes and earth quakes.

I have seen minor ones but nothing like SoCal got. If I were you I would stay home and make sure the larder is fully stocked, there is no defense when ma nature decides to flex her muscle.

RE: Tow vehicle miss match

I saw a similarly loaded Volvo wagon last summer, it didn't look like it had any suspension travel left. The scariest one was a lifted CJ-7 pulling an old construction camp trailer, he struggled to hang onto it at anything approaching highway speed. Waddya mean a weight distribution hitch? What's that?

RE: Would you tow with this? NOT MINE

Cool truck but I would not want to cross country in that cramped cab. They weren't designed for comfort.

RE: Anyone use a new LIFAN generator?

I work with the local small engine shop. We won't take the cheap offshore equipment in as parts and service information are too difficult to get. If we do get it to work, the customer expects unlimited warranty, it's not worth the headaches. Some do well with them but remember the bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

RE: Chevy Silverado V6

What is the tow capacity on the yellow door sticker? That is the rating for this particular truck. We tried towing with a 4.0 liter V-6 Ranger in the B.C. mountains, after two trips we had enough. The trailer was within the limits according to Ford but somebody had obviously never tried it. Save your nickels for a more capable vehicle.

RE: Snow: how deep is too deep for camping?

If there is snow on the ground I'm heading south where it's warm. IMHO, camping and snow don't belong in the same sentence.

RE: U.S. 12 Kooskia to Lolo

I drove it many years ago, thoroughly enjoyed the trip. Took lots of pictures then found the shutter on my camera was pooched when I got home.:M Renee, the grade up Whitebird and the descent into Kooskia were a little unerving though with an overloaded underpowered truck.
