No hills within 500 miles. Let's see him try that on our 8.5% grade on the Coquihalla

RE: 4700 generac generator cutting off

Should be able to. A competent mechanic can do it in minutes.

It should run one a/c. Check your valve clearances.

RE: driving from arizona to wa state

Don't worry, the state troopers will be out as usual to keep you company. The big problem might be finding a place to stop for the night or an easily accessible grocery store, the restaurants are closed.

RE: No Corona

No beer? Just when we thought things could not get any worse! Seriously, I agree that we need to find humor in this desperate situation. Without it we would all go mad. The liquor stores are open here, the medical system would be overwhelmed if those dependant went into withdrawal. It would also open the floodgates to homebrew and bootlegging, we all know what happened the last time that was tried.

RE: Stricter stay at home rules

They have not thought that through. People have to eat so they will run to the stores and stock up on large amounts leaving the shelves bare. Then where will the poor who likely have little if any refridgeration keep a week supply of meat and other perishables? But maybe the well to do don't care.

RE: Sierra 2500 fifth wheel hitch - factory prep vs aftermarket

I have the rails, they work fine for me except get plugged when I carry gravel or fill. The puck system might be more convenient, I would try it.

RE: Cummins Onan P2500I Inverter Portable Generator

It is probably alright for the price, a Chinese knockoff as with most other brands.

RE: Hwy. 95 in Idaho

It is a good two lane road with some steep sections but should not present any problems with a properly equipped tow vehicle. Just don't be in a hurry especially at Whitebird, that is a mother of a hill! Idaho is one of my favorite states.

RE: 20 year loan for RV?

They will pay a fortune in interest, the lender won't take that risk for nothing, and if their circumstances change and they need to sell they will owe more than the rig is worth.

RE: Looking for advice on purchasing a 3/4 or 1 ton pickup

The local dealers don't stock 250O/F-250's. They are classed as luxury vehicles and are subject to a surtax if over $55,000 which most if not all are. The 3500/F-350 is cheaper and more desireable.

RE: European 5th Wheelers of the 1950's

Thanks for the pictures, those are neat looking rigs. Given the low power of European vehicles in that period they must have been a challenge to drive.

And I was rejoicing at $1.07/litre for diesel.:S We can thank a brutal exchange rate and taxes but still it's a big improvement.

RE: What size of fifth wheel to accomidate my 3/4 truck...

You can probably get away with it lightly loaded but imho that is too much trailer for your truck. I have towed an 11,000#+ fiver with my 2500 and wouldn't feel comfortable going with much more. You are in 3500 country.

RE: Campground is filled with kids

We loved that area, were there several times. It brings back a memory. We crossed to Port Townsend sitting in the truck, they packed us in so tight we couldn't open the doors. When we disembarked I could not find my wallet! Oh ****, no licence, no credit cards. Nothing! I figured I dropped it on the ramp at Coupeville. Now what? We got out to walk around and assess our situation and it reappeared like magic, dw was sitting on it!
