RE: Winter Storage

With power electrical available cycle the inverter side of the Magnum MS2000 OFF and leave the battery switches ON. With the coach asleep for the winter you won't need the inverter in a ready/standby state to come online if case of a power failure. Keeping the battery switches ON will allow the converter/charger side of the Magnum to keep the batteries fully charged. Check the battery water level from time to time the same as you would during the summer. If you did not have AC power available then the battery switches should be switched to OFF. Excellant advise do not turn the battery switches off if it is plugged in

RE: Selling my RV advice

This is for anyone who has dealt with PPL Consignment in TX. I'm thinking of selling my 5th wheel and considering bringing it to PPL. I went on their website and most of the reviews are negative. I would appreciate input if you've dealt with them, or if there is another place you would recommend to sell. I really don't want to sell it myself. Thanks, Allen Funny I went to their website and saw positive reviews - I would expect that on their website - always heard good about them personally

RE: Route suggestions please!

For the west side of Big Bend national Park try Maverick Ranch RV Park Lajitas Texas - great park we paid $35 per night for a week there recently Take the rowboat in Big Bend Park to Mexico - we had a great breakfast over looking the Rio Grande How do I get there? Park at the Boquillas Crossing parking lot near Boquillas Canyon. After passing through the port of entry visitors are ferried across the Rio Grande on a small rowboat for a modest fee ($5 round-trip). Walking across the river is permitted only at the Boquillas Crossing, but is not recommended if the river level is high. Once across the river visitors have the option of walking to the village (1/2 mile) or paying an additional fee to ride on a burro, horse, or in a vehicle. Local guides are available. Visitors are required to check in with Mexican immigration officials upon arrival in Boquillas. Visitors planning to stay overnight in Mexico will need to apply for a temporary visa. Secure overnight parking at the Boquillas Crossing Port of Entry may be available.

RE: Seeking FHU site near Florida Springs for class A

I still have not found one with fhu for a 42' motorhome near a spring that allows scuba, etc. RAINBOW SPRINGS SP, FL has it all - great park with lots of room - most of the sites are "banana" sites

RE: trailer size and campsites in National Parks

21 feet seems to be the max in Oregon for the most part. Bigger is not always better. So many variables here. Not true about Oregon What are you saying about Oregon I have stayed in numerous state parks there and my 37Ft motor home fits fine - please clarify

RE: trailer size and campsites in National Parks

Of the 49 National Parks in the lower 48 only 8 have full hookup sites and another 8 have sites with electric, leaving 33 with no camping at all - twenty one feet will limit you and you will soon grow to regret your decision We have visited 31 or the 49 in the last 10 years Do you mean 21' is too long or too small? Way too small

RE: Building RV park near McKinney TX, what would you want most?

Doing it in a southern region, if you will cater to long termers in a section, have the best wifi you can, short timers can use hotspots etc, but the long termers want good wifi. They will overlook some other misgivings for good wifi. Otherwise , as others have suggested, separate areas, room between sites, Senior or over 55 areas. Disagree on the WIFI I gave up long ago on RV Wifi - too many abuse it a with streaming etc and it ruins it for all - I do not know how a owner could built a system that would work in today's world. We carry and use our own Wifi devices

RE: East Canada

I have been to the east coast four times. We have never made advance reservations, but if you are planning on staying in one place for several weeks, you might want to. As far as boondocking, there are some places, but they are few and far between. It depends on how big a rig you have. The iOverlander app shows some boondocking spots. We have a 38 ft rig with tow car, and many of the places listed on the app are for smaller rvs. We did stay at a few places listed in the app, as well as some Walmarts. Places like Peggys Cove have a very narrow road going to them, and little to no parking for rvs. I recommend a tow car for visiting places like Peggys Cove, Lunenburg, Halifax etc. Also the tow car is a must to go around The Cabot Trail in Cape Breton. Very scenic highway, but not recommended to take your rv around it. It has very steep hills. I myself really enjoy the high tides of the Bay of Fundy. That is what keeps me going back over and over. Hopewell Rocks, NB, are a must see, as well as try to catch the tidal bore at South Maitland, NS. You can also see it at Truro NS, but South Maitland is probably the best at the tidal bore interpretation centre. Burntcoat Head is the highest tides in the world. Digby Harbour, Halls Harbour are two in Nova Scotia that you can see the high tides changing. Alma in New Brunswick is a cute harbour, and is close to the Fundy NP. PEI has lots of beaches, as well as the Confederation Bridge. It is free to get on the island, but cost $45.50 for a car, and $8.75 per extra axle to cross the bridge. You can also take the ferry over for free, but it is more expensive than the bridge to return to the mainland. We are going too thank you for your excellent info Winniman

RE: When giving restaurant (or other venues) suggestions

Google is pretty good for giving reviews on restaurants. I use TripAdvisor as well. I don't use Yelp because I don't trust it due to previous issues with false reviews. Yep trip advisor is the place to go for restaurants not here
