RE: Work-anywhere towing assistance?

Let me add one important point about road side asst/emergency services & your cell phone. There are still lots of areas that have ZERO cell service no matter what provider you use. We have been in such a place with a blowout on the 5er but I can still change one but I'm 72 & see the day will be really tough !

RE: Jacked your to house batteries

As many rv forums as I visit, never ever seen " jackery " used in a conversation. Sounds like what my Aussie friend might call a bumper jack. All of us unknowing beg forgiveness

RE: Garmin gps / used with good Sam trip planner

I also can't get the trip planner to pair a trip to my 760. GS acts like it's as easy as falling off a log to work with a Garmin

RE: Lake Greeson Ar.

Lake Greeson Ar.

Anyone have a favorite campground at Lake Greeson. My Wife has decreed we are going to go there. I just start planning and do not ask why. It's so much easier this way :)

RE: Planning a trip to southeastern Oklahoma

Beavers Bend State Park . That area is part of the Ouachita mountains and they go thru Arkansas also. There are a few more . I just go thru that area driving US259 heading to our place up in the Ozarks . It's a pretty drive. Also Queen Willimene (spelling ? ) SP There is actually 2 State areas there at Beavers Bend, one on the lake ,I understand bigger rig friendly but on the river area it's not for big rigs. I haven't camped there but have driven thru. There at the Hocatown area on 259 lots of private rv parks & lots of traffic trying to get in the restaurants.

RE: Lessons Learned From RV Cover Erection

I built ours 45 ft long and 20 wide. Looking back maybe should have gone 24 or more on width. My walls are 15 ft with a 2/12 pitch so clearance isn't an issue. 2/12 is fine with no snow load ! Make sure your carport can handle the snow in your area. Snow, you talking that white stufff we see every 4/5 years for normally a day , 2 at most. All steel square tubing uprights , I beam rafter, 8 in c purlin, & galvalume roof. Tornado is biggest concern but you just don't think about it We did have a 100 year winter storm this year but that's not normal.

RE: RV Hot Skin (Exterior electrification)

It is plugged in now so dont want to take it apart just yet, but best I remember is it did look factory, not just wires going in odd places, the neutral looked like it was factory made to be grounded where it was, but I cant say for sure that it was not just grounded to the ground bar. Nonetheless, would it be wise to unground it? That would mean the neutral is only connected to the neutral of the extension cord, not the ground of the panel that connects to the ground of the extension cord. I can do electrical just fine, but am not an electrician that knows the codes.Yes the neutral bus and ground bus in an RV should be separated. RV panel is a sub-panel. Neutral-ground bond should only be made at the main power source panel supplied by the utility transformer. I was haveing a GFCI problem . After 8 years the plug started tripping. I replaced it and all was well for about a week then it to started tripping. I started looking for a possible cause and started in the breaker box. I'm laying on the floor staring at the wiring when I see a romex with the neutral on the gnd bus & the gnd on the neutral bus. How that GF plug ever worked is beyond me. Something to check for.

RE: Dometic CT thermostat controller

If those are the " communicating " thermostats Dometic uses then your stuck . It can be done with some relays/wireing if you thought worth the trouble.

RE: [SOLVED] Work truck with service bed to tow a fifth wheel?

Sell the utility bed and throw on a flat bed setup to tow a 5er. Exactly the thing todo. Service beds simply too tall . I've spent many an hour driving a truck with a service bed.

RE: new camper needs help!

Dad advice. A broke single mom with two kids doesn't need a camper of any kind. Grandpa agrees with Dad .

RE: Inflatable Kayaks

Any thoughts on these? Thinking about a two man version. We could occasionally use some sort of boat but don't want to haul a full size one around. Nothing too energetic paddling around lakes and such. We have a fold-boat at home but it's just too much trouble to haul around with the motor and fuel. Need to sell it actually. We have a Hobi 2 person inflatable . Good quality but I have to admit on the pricey side.

RE: Galveston camp grounds.

We spent the first week of April just south of Galveston at Bluewater RV Resort and really liked it. Short drive to Galveston or Freeport. Good size spaces & beach just across the hiway.

RE: SE Michigan to Texas in July

I need a good route to a NE suburb of Houston from I75 area south of Flint, MI towing a 5th wheel in July. Get to I40, then I30 to US 59 at Texarkana to Lufkin then 69 on into NE Houston. Good roads, avoids Dallas. However make sure you have GOOD tires as it's hot in July.

RE: 5th wheel hitches

What the OP is requiring in his post is the ideal application for an Andersen. HER post LOL! I write, hubby researches the technical stuff and has decided on a B&W hitch. As a former Andersen cheerleader getting the B&W is the smartest thing you could do . I use a B&W Patriot on a Curt X-Rail and the only upgrade I would think about is one of the air ride hitches.

RE: Moderna vaccine (Personal experiences)

Wife & I got our 1st Moderno a week ago and just a sore arm for about a day. FYI on a side effect of the Phizer. My SiL had her 1st & broke out wit a mild case of shingles and a week ago while camping on the coast in Freeport had a camp nieghbor that after the 1st Phizer , he broke out in a bad case of shingles.

RE: toll charges

PawPaw mentioned 259 in eastern Ok and we travel that route from Tx to our Arkansas land. Very pretty drive thru the Ouachita's but it does have a few steep grades.
