Slide out awning

Is an awning over a slide out worth the cost? I have had a couple leaks in my trailer due to debris collecting on the top of the slide out. Never had this problem before. Have a small leaf blower now but it is a little bit of a hassle to clean.

Grill gas connect

I have a propane grill that normally would hook up to an outlet on the trailer. I would like to convert it to use the small propane bottles you buy at Walmart, but the connections are different. I have look at other sites on the internet and do not find ready made hoses. Also, is pressure a problem? Suggestions

RE: Flashing rope light

Gee, all I asked for was a source, not a lecture. And, who said I was going to put it at campsite. As I have seen too often on this website some responders tend to over react to inquires.

Flashing rope light

On a recent camping trip, we saw a rope light that was basically blue but had intermittent flashing white lights. Gave it a sparkling effect. Was not able to touch base with the owner of the trailer. Has anyone else seen such an animated light and where did they get it and what was in named/called?

Trailer Life

I received a notice on the internet that Trailer Life will no longer be published after the December issue. What has happened? I have a multiyear subscription. Refund? Will be an alternative?

RE: Which sewer hose?

To may knowledge they are all a universal fit.

RE: Coleman Grill

It is the road trip grill. I usually cook steak and pork chops about 3/4 inch thick. Do close the lid to intensify the smoke flavoring.

Coleman Grill

Cannot seem to control intensity of Coleman grill flame. It gets too hot such that it will burn the outside of the meat before the middle is cooked. Like the grill but it cooks too hot. Any suggestions. Pressure regulator? The control knobs on the front do not seem to affect flamd.

Tire trucks

Truck tires need to be replaced. Any recommendations? Should I consider any special features to consider when towing 22 foot trailer?

Thanks for all the input.

RE: Bent frame

The camper was insured. I don't know why you assume it wasn't. Appraisals are slow right now due to the widespread nature of the storm. I was just wanting to get opinions about reliability of options.

RE: Bent frame

As IDman asked, when the tree fell it caught the spare tire, which caused the bumper to bend, which then caused the frame to bend. It also demolished two bicycles. I am not good at posting pictures, but the impact caused the frame to drop about 6 inches back to nothing at 4-5 feet from the bumper. Can see wiring, pipes and the "black" tank in the gap, so I am concerned about the integrity of the water system and electrical. Also concerned about the long term endurance of the body and frame as the damage is at the end of the trailer where there would be more bounce as you travel down the road. For the sake of 6 inches, it did no damage to the "box" but in sure did bend the frame. Lost five trees in the storm that included up to 80 mph straight line winds. The trees were pines that had been planted in the 30's by the CCC. Pines are pretty weak.

Bent frame

Back of travel trailer was hit by a falling tree during storm. Bent back 4-5 feet of trailer on one side. The "box" is fine, just frame. Repair shop said they could cut out bad part and weld in a replacement. Is this something someone else has experienced. Does it work in the long run. I am a little cautious that this really works. Opinions?

RE: vinyl black spot removal

Mold armor worked great. Did not even have to wipe it off. Did rinse with water afterwards as I did not know if there would be after effects. Thanks.

vinyl black spot removal

What is the best way to remove black spots(mold?) from the external vinyl trim on a trailer?
