RE: Tiers of Motohomes

To answer example question. 1. Pace Arrow 2 Southwind 3. Bounder & Bounder Classic 4. Flair. But understand all of these were built at the same plant. Discovery is a diesel and the others are gas engines. As far as manufactures build quality do a search on this website that has been discussed a lot.

RE: Retiring from the RV world

I don't know if you have anything to do with Facebook but I just listed mine with Craigslist and Facebook. I sold it in 3 days with 5 people waiting in line to look and every one of them from Facebook and not one from Craigslist.

RE: Do you always need an RV Park ? .....

I rarely get involved in these conversations but this one hit home for me. Because when I started in 1978 with my first of 5 class A's the reason I did was because it was self contained and I could be out in the wilderness for a week or more and not worry about negatively affecting in the enviroment. And what I was doing out there was fishing, hunting, dirt biking, sandrailing, fourwheeling and just relaxing. And guess what I didn't pay a dime to be there. Now move forward 20 yrs. my first trip around the United States I stayed in a RV park every night for several months. Which was more enjoyable for me was the first twenty. What iritates me now is a Class A is designed and sold with a minimum of 7 days of self containment and now cities and counties are trying to force me to stay in their RV parks. I do not mind paying for dry parking at all but why should I have to pay somebody for what I already have a toilet and shower with tanks a generator, refrigerator, stove, microwave, solar power so what's the point of having all this? I guess I understand this new generation of RV'ers that never lived in that era before RV parks but why force all us in that direction? I'm done!

RE: Tires - The 10 Year Rule

My rig is just a smallish {24'} Class C but the blowout of a 5+ year old Michelin the day after being inspected and aired up for the load by Discount Tire did $4,181 in damage blowing the wheel well right up through the coach. Had it been a front wheel it could have easily killed us. I'll never own a tire older than 5 years again. My dear departed dad used to tell me "Son, any problem that can be solved by money is NOT a problem... If you have the money." Just saying. Good luck. :C Desert Captain, Did your insurance cover a large percentage of that damage?
