RE: Remember when tv

ya - i remember when you had to get up to changes channels or volume.
our neighbor was the first to get a TV and i would go there to watch the Lone Ranger. Black and White of course.

RE: Omaha to Mt Rushmore route through Nebraska?

i would take I29 North to I90 West. might not be shorter than others routes, but when you take interstates you can usually travel faster, less small towns to go thru. Got to be faster and easier driving.

RE: Leaving potable antifreeze in the system

i agree with time2roll - it does not cost that much for the peace of mind.
will take only a few minutes to flush out the old and put in new anti-freeze.

RE: CSA

None of us should support the snowbird org. They should be lobbying for an open border. They have done nothing. In a July newsletter they said the border was open. In the q&a section they continue to give wrong answers to questions. Horrible org.

what is the CSA ????????

alaska 2021 ???

is any one planning on going up in 2021? assuming the borders are open of course. just wondering what it will be like since, i guess, that most of the businesses this year had no business. i wonder if the smaller, mom and pop type, businesses will be there.
at this point in time, as i type this, we do not plan on going up.
but there is always hope.

RE: Camp Hatteras Route

That looks like a good route and am very familiar with I77. Now to find a decent place for overnight not too far off the highways somewhere near the halfway mark. I can see some around the 450 mile mark.
**********************************************
In NC on I74 at exit 8 there is a campground, Beechnut CG.
to get to it- I74 exit 8, go left on Red Brush road, watch for signs. there is a sign on the corner of Red Brush and George McKinney road, turn right on George Chandler road, go about 1/4 mile. CG is on the left.
Another one, on I74 at exit 11 , at highway US601. turn right, go about 1/4 mile, turn left on McKinney road, look for signs.
Mayberry CG.
We live in Mt. Airy and have been to both of these many times.
Beechnut is about 3 miles from our house. Mayberry is about 7 miles.
To continue South, take I74 which runs into US52, and continue South to Winston Salem. At exit 107A go East, here take I40 East for a couple miles and pick up I74 again.

RE: banks

six months ago if you went into a bank with a mask on, they would call the cops, now if you do not have a mask on, they still call the cops.

RE: Scenic Routes/Places to See in WY, ID, MT, SD & E. CO

Glacier Natl park is probably the best (my opinion) of all the National parks.
A must see if you get near it.

RE: Camp Hatteras Route

how about I77 South to Winston-Salem, NC, then I40 East to Raleigh, then US64.
You will have the WV turnpike.
Not sure where in NE Ohio you are at.
Plenty of campgrounds along the way.

RE: Brophy Tie Downs?

this is great. yesterday while moving stuff around i found the similar tie downs. i had them on my first 3 truck campers, of course the TC in those days were much smaller, not nearly as heavy back then. i would never use them on todays, heavier TC. They are at least 40 years old. was going to throw them away, but who knows.

RE: Memorial Day

there were 8 boys in my dad's family and 3 boys in my mother's family.
total 11, of this 9 served in WWII. My dad was a US Marine, 1 in the Navy, 1 in the US Army Air force, 1 in the Coast Guard. all the others were in the Army.
None were killed. The two who did not serve were too young. Uncle Albert did serve later.
another strange thing - All of them had the same first name - Uncle.
another thing - 4 of my dad's sisters also served. not sure what branch. i had 12 Aunts
