RE: After 25 years the water heater - UPDATE page 5

I ordered my new water heater Tuesday and it will be here tomorrow, Friday. With the way things have been as far as shipping goes I'm a happy camper. I should have the old one replaced tomorrow depending on when the new one arrives. What was I thinking?? It just left Chicago today. :R

Nice shop! https://i.postimg.cc/T1vdXyJB/IMG-1594.jpg Thanks, I wish it was mine. I just have access to it anytime I need it.

https://i.postimg.cc/c1mNhgHd/IMG-1593.jpg My generator had a weird vibration in it so I took it out today to see what it was. It just needed to be aligned a little bit better in the pan that its mounted in. Hopefully tomorrow I'll swap out the water heater.

RE: shifting camper

My camper seems to always "settle in" after I first load it and I always end up readjusting the tie downs. After the first trip I never have to adjust them again. Due the age difference between my truck and camper it doesn't sit exactly square in the bed. Not a big deal to me.

RE: Front hitch to carry motorcycle

I know you didn't ask for trailer advise but...... I use a small trailer for my motorcycle. https://i.postimg.cc/LsrT0FPs/IMG-1230.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/TPWjbNsv/IMG-1231.jpg My aluminum ATV trailer only weighs 300 lbs empty and it lets me carry stuff that I can't carry in my camper. https://i.postimg.cc/B6NJHyNq/IMG-1590.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/J761hfGx/IMG-1589.jpg

Come back with update -where did you run power wire from? -new switch installation. - new breaker for 120V element? I did not get one that requires 120v.

Darn! I forgot the yellow Teflon tape for the propane line adapter! Back to the hardware store. And for me that a 46 mile round trip. Thanks for the list.

My five minute jobs seem to take a lot longer these days. Good luck! Let us know how it goes! Mine do too. I'm just a positive thinker. LOL

I just ordered my new water heater. A Suburban 6 gal with DI. Should be a piece of cake to swap out.

The bypass sounds like a reasonable idea. I enjoy a nice hot shower t the end of the day. My water heater gets used quite a bit between showers and doing the dishes every day.

RE: After 25 years the water heater - UPDATE page 5

Thanks for all the comments. I lucked out and was only camping fr a few days. It only leaked when I had the pump on and I was able to keep a dry towel under it to keep the cabinet dry. I will get one that I can control from inside. I doubt the anode rode was ever replaced. That's how it was when I bought it. Electric would just be an added expense and seldom ever used because I seldom stay in RV parks where i have access to power. I thought bout taking the one out of my other camper but its 25 years old too so I doubt that it has much life left in it either. I guess the search for a replacement begins.

After 25 years the water heater - UPDATE page 5

https://i.postimg.cc/vHTQRR7H/IMG-8146.jpg This the anode rode I removed when I first bought my camper last July. :E https://i.postimg.cc/HnjFNgqq/IMG-8147.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/Rh3bRTf9/IMG-8149.jpg I flushed and flushed and flushed before all this junk quit coming out of it. Its leaking into the foam insulation so I'm sure the tank finally rotted thru. The think that surprised me when I first bought the camper is that it has most every option yet you have to go outside to light the water heater. I'm going to correct that. ;)

RE: GM HD Trucks Many with AWD instead of 4WD

I wouldn't be interested in AWD in a new truck. I still prefer a shifter attached to the transfer case.

RE: Toyota fake 3/4 ton spotted, overheated

And if they are photos of "Big 3" broken down, sure you will find more of them. You do realize that Toyota has less than 10% market share in that segment, don't you? This is true. ^^^^^^^ They all make good trucks and they all break down and Parley's Canyon eats trucks. What kind of maint did those people do to the trucks that are broken down? Mow many miles did they have on them? I love truck wars. :B I just hope that what ever truck you drive its as good to you as mine has been to me.

RE: Wilderness camping and gun safety

You practice with a gun until it becomes a reflex. An empty gun is a useless gun. Some people have no business owning a gun. They're not for everyone.

RE: Modern 1/2 ton tow vehicle question

Did you consider a toy hauler TT? Might move the weight around enough to meet TV load capacity. Yes, but my wife hates the toy-haulers. She doesn't care about the toys, if she's going along she doesn't want toys in her living space so I gotta live with that. Some do have garages but, I'm good with the TT. My ex and I felt the same way. Never been a TH fan but they sure fill a huge niche in the OHV world.

RE: Wilderness camping and gun safety

If I wanted to get licensed and start carrying a firearm, what are the legal requirements to travel through multiple different states after getting licensed my my home state? Check with your state to which stated reciprocate with your state. Some states don't honor any other state's permits.
