RE: S&S camper lacks grey tank

I had a vintage TT like that and all we did was boondock. I was able to close the valve from the black and and put a cam on the end that I could attach a garden hose to and just drained off the gray water as we generated it.

RE: TCs and Covid Vaccinations

And you'd understand that cancer is not a virus. No, cancer isn't a virus - never said it was. For those of you who think everyone should wear a mask why don't you buy and wear an N-95 mask and protect yourself. While I do care for others your personal well being is not my responsibility.

RE: TCs and Covid Vaccinations

Ten years from now we'll be hearing commercials like this, "If you received the Covid 19 vaccination between 2020 & 2021 you may be entitled to compensation." :B

RE: TCs and Covid Vaccinations

.... - no one will ever force you to get vaccinated. I would not bank on that statement. We are in a brave new world of constraints on freedom. Wanna travel? Show us proof of vaccination. Wanna go to school? Show us proof of vaccination. Wanna shop in our store? Show us proof of vaccination. Wanna be a part of society? Show us your papers. Exactly.

RE: TCs and Covid Vaccinations

Well - there's one twist - Cancer isn't contagious. But like someone else said, anyone refusing just means I get to move up a spot in line. Attitude, gratitude, hope and believing are all very powerful. If my immune system can kill cancer I believe a virus doesn't stand a chance. I guess I'm doing my part, kind of like doing a clinical trial. What I do might just benefit someone else, like you. ;)

RE: replacing Brake Pads

I had an Excursion and a 2000 Econoline E350. Both had issues with the inner lining of the flex hoses sluffing off and causing a restriction in the hose that kept the calipers from fully retracting. I'd recommend that they replace the flex hoses on that Excursion. Also, keep a close eye on flex section of the brake line that goes from the master cylinder to the antilock unit on the frame. I had to make a panic stop and the flex portion of the brake line blew out and I had a total loss of brakes. I had to cut quickly to miss the car that had stopped suddenly in front of me and then I ran through a red light. Thankfully the cross traffic saw that I was in trouble and waited for me to get through the intersection. I was pulling my 24' car trailer and was able to use the trailer brake to get stopped. Those $450 pads were extremely hard. They never had a problem after they replaced them with a different pad made of different material.

RE: TCs and Covid Vaccinations

I totally agree! This is just my humble opinion and not being snarky OK, I think if you want the shot then you should get it. If you don't want it you shouldn't. I think both sides should be able to exercise there god given freedoms and make a choice that's good for them and no one else. Lets face it, Not a lot is known about Covid 19 and I am suspect about the whole thing because of China and of course the political environment here in the states. The doctor in the ER told me some truths about the whole thing that I won't pass on to you here because I respect you all. I am on a ton of forums. This one is the best because of the age of the members. No offense. I left another forum recently because of the millennial crowd just biting my head off every time I said something. Frankly I'm just not that smart and savvy enough to catch on sometimes and things go right over my head. Not here. Members are very truthful with each other here and very down to earth. There is no deceptive motive included in there statements. I appreciate that. The back and forth here is about the usual stuff like the weight issue and other TC things that we all have a passion about. Thanks for taking me on. God bless you all... I totally agree with you. https://i.postimg.cc/ZRb1DqMS/patti.jpg All three of these ladies are front line workers in a hospital and they just got their 2nd dose. I have known two of them for over 10 years. When I started volunteering there several years ago they did some blood work on me to determine what vaccine's I'd had because I had no idea what vaccinations I got when I was in elementary school. That was a long time ago. ;) I'd missed a big one and I'd never had a flu shot. So I agreed to get them so I didn't have to wear a mask while volunteering. The vaccinations went on my medical record but I was never given a piece of paper stating that I had received them. What is it that they're holding?? Is it something that they need to carry with them to prove they received the Covid 19 vaccination??

To you as well! If any of you are ever going through Little Rock on I-40, you need to stop by NRALIFR’s Bar and Grill. I know the owner, and he’ll treat you well. :B https://i.imgur.com/eYrHy3Ol.jpg :):) https://i.postimg.cc/rFVHF5YS/like.png

RE: replacing Brake Pads

"IF" it gets contaminated. That's something that I have personally never experienced. While working in the automotive field the only time I saw brake fluid that was contaminated was when someone added something to the master cylinder other than what was recommended by the manufacture. I'm not saying don't flush it, I just don't see it as a problem if you don't.

RE: replacing Brake Pads

I just changed the front pads on the F250. Bellied right up to the Ford parts counter with a fat wallet. Only complaint is that they did not provide a decal for that money. :B A few years ago my daughter's husband had new brakes put on their Excursion, he told them he wanted the best pads they had - $450 for just the front pads. Two new Ford rotors plus labor on top of the $450. They squealed like a pig all the time so they took it to an independent after several trips back to the dealer and had less expensive pads installed, squeal gone.

14 1/2 years and 412,924K on the odometer and it's never been changed. Kind of makes you wonder just how important it is to flush it.

RE: replacing Brake Pads

My 03 GMC has 160,000 miles and never have replaced the pads. I’d check oem and see what they use and how much the cost Mine's sitting at 217,000 and I'm still running on the factory brakes pads. I'll replace them with what ever they were from GM.

RE: TCs and Covid Vaccinations

Covid had not altered my camping s far and I doubt that it will. I'm not worried about it altering my camping, I'm worried about it altering my LIVING!! I'll take the vaccine as soon as it's open for persons with compromised immune systems from cancer and auto-immune diseases. And I'm not worried about it affecting my living either. I have no interest or desire to ever take the vaccine. I've had aggressive Stage IV cancer. It was cured by building my immune system to kill the cancer rather than destroying my immune system and everything else to kill the cancer. If people feel that will benefit from it then by all means go for it.

RE: V6 Silverados

Ask the Ford Egoboost owners the same thing. LOL. I have three friends who tow with that engine and it gets HOT climbing grades. I'll take the 5.0L over the Egoboost ( :B ) every time for a tow vehicle. 2011 and newer GMs got a much larger tank, and an increase in GVWR. I was slightly annoyed when the 2011s came out. My 2011 is the most trouble free vehicle I have ever owned. 217,000 miles and I have no plans on replacing it.

RE: Wolf Creek 850 roll over story

It's not the problem of "the furnace Northwood puts in their campers" it's where it's located in the AFs: In the slide out (except the 865). With it being there, you can't run ducting anywhere else in the camper. That doesn't make any sense at all, especially in a "4-season" camper. Years ago I had a TT with a radiant heat furnace so there was no ducting anywhere, the bathroom was always freezing. We camped in temps well below freezing and the furnace kept the rest of the trailer toasty warm. https://i.postimg.cc/k5XgJfs9/IMG-7644.jpg I solved that problem by installing a 2nd propane gas light in the bathroom. It would warm up the bathroom on cold morning in about 15 minutes. I'm quite sure that this would be more difficult to do in newer TCs.

RE: V6 Silverados

^ It's all relative. And comparing new trucks to the pony express and claiming that 300 V6 horses should be the best thing since beer in a can since the pony express wagons only had 6 horses pulling them and they made it from Kansas City to San Francisco, is like wetting your pants. It's a warm feeling but embarrassing once someone sees it... https://i.postimg.cc/XJb4zLP9/lol.png As to the size of gas tanks, my Chevy 2500HD has a 38 gallon gas tank.

I'm quite sure that the other manufactures are having back orders on a few items too, its not just Ford.

RE: How much weight could be eliminated?

Can you even tell the difference in shedding just a few hundred pounds? I read once where someone claimed, driving an F-350 dually with a huge camper that he could tell a difference in the handling just by removing the spare tire from under the bed. :R I'm sure the from one trip to another my weight may have gone up or down by a couple hundred pounds and I've ever noticed a difference. Maybe 1000 pounds would make a difference but I don't have 1000 pounds of stuff that I could eliminate.
