Where can I find this RV?

They say it takes 3 RVs to get it right. We are on our 6th and still looking. We currently have a 43ft 5th wheel. We thought it was perfect until we realize it doesnt fit in many places and there are a lot of things that break. So we are now looking to downsize. I was wondering if anyone can point us to a Class C or B+ that has the following: 2020 or newer floorplan 28ft or less True Queen or King (no weird folding or Murphy stuff) Real Dinnette Pantry 2 recliners Decent outside storage Decent size shower/bathroom Can tow a 4500 lb Jeep E450 Any ideas of what to look at would be appreciated. Does a floorplannlike that exists in a small MH? Thank you MC

RE: Shortest 5th wheel with washer/dryer

Somewhere between 29-32 or so. No particular reason other than we have a 44ft 5th wheel now and we can't get many sites so we are going to downsize. The smaller the better but we may need to go to 33-35ft to get that W/D hookup. If it gets too close to 40ft, I am not sure it will make that much difference. We are tossing around, as discussed, the idea of a shorter fifth wheel and no dually or a Sunseeker 2400 and a CRV or similar. We just need something more manageable. Two engines to maintain vs one.

RE: Shortest 5th wheel with washer/dryer

Anything that is 2022 or 2023 and available to purchase new? Our ideal is a 27.5 Artic Fox but no washer and dryer hook up. I just can't seem to find one at or below 30. MC

Shortest 5th wheel with washer/dryer

What is the shortest fifth wheel you can buy with washer and dryer Hookups? We are looking for something under 32ft if it exists. Thank you MC

RE: Best RV for towing Jeep

I havent found one that can tow yet. They all have the hitch rating but now the capacity to tow that much. MC Based on your criteria (size and mpg) you’d be looking for something on the Sprinter diesel chassis which you may know is built by Mercedes. I don’t know if it can tow 4500 lbs, but it may very well do so.

RE: Best RV for towing Jeep

Thank you Rich, On the 35U, did you ever have any issues finding campgrounds? We have a 42 5th wheel now and it is a nightmare. Probably a mute point but what kind of mpg were you getting with the 35U. We drive a lot so getting at least 9-10mpg makes a bug difference. MC as you search for your MH one quick way is to look at the specs. a 5000-lb difference between the GVWR and GCWR will be the first indication that your requirement has been met. the MH should also have a hitch capable of towing 5K. but it's important to fully understand the weight limits of your RV. each axle has a gross weight rating that should not be exceeded and it is possible to for the MH to be under it's GVWR and still be overweight on one axle (usually the rear). I know from experience. if you're looking for a used coach check out the Winnebago Adventurer/Itasca Suncruiser model 35U (model years 2000 and later). We had one and loved it and in retrospect we never should have traded it. Fixed queen bed, great rear axle weight limit, 5K hitch/5k tow limit, plenty of storage and an excellent, very livable floor plan. We had the Ford power plant. Good luck.

RE: Best RV for towing Jeep

We would love to get a Sprinter on a Mercedes diesel hut I think that platform maxes out at around 4k to be within the GVWR. Any suggestion on one module that has room left for 4500lbs Jeep towing would be appreciated. I think it is either a Class A or a Class C. In today's, camping world, I want to be around 30-32 at the most. Campgrounds are very few and far between when you get over 35ft. MC Based on your criteria (size and mpg) you’d be looking for something on the Sprinter diesel chassis which you may know is built by Mercedes. I don’t know if it can tow 4500 lbs, but it may very well do so.

Best RV for towing Jeep

I was wondering if anyone could offer some advise on the best RV to tow a 4500lb Jeep. I am looking for the smallest RV with a queen fixed bed and enough storage for fulltiming. I know there are many criteria to consider. I am just wondering where people seem to gravitate after trying several options. Ideally a 25-26ft unit will be perfect. I am trying to avoid the 6 mpg gas guzzlers. MC

RE: Smallest Class C that can tow a Jeep

Yes, it sits at 4300lbs. Perhaps I should add more context. We now own a RAM 3500 and a 43ft 5'er. Because of the camping explosion over the last few years, it has become nearly impossible to find sites to camp. We love the space but we just can't fit in many places and there aren't many places available anyways. We actually just use it for 3 months out of the yearly mainly summer to escape the Arizona heat. This takes weeks to plan even a year ahead of time. We are looking for a small motorhome that we can use year around, that gives us more site availability and can tow outr 4300lbs Jeep. It will be in addition to the 5'er to start and perhaps the only thing we keep after one season. The requirements are; - Under 26ft - Towing 5k or more - 15k AC - Queen bed with easy access, preferably permanent (no flip or disassemble) - Pantry and Ward - Some outside storage for chairs, bbq etc - Smallish with decent mpg (not 6-8) - Preferably usable bed, bathroom and kitchen while on the road or parked with slides in. - Ford chassis for ease of maintenance

RE: Smallest Class C that can tow a Jeep

Thank you for all the responses. It is a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited 4 door. We have been looking at Class B+ with Ford chassis but a small Diesel Mercedes Class C seems to give you a little more towing. It is starting to look like an f450 similar Class C is the way to go. We have been wanting to keep it at 25-26ft and have the option to bring a toad. The floorplan we like is the Sunseeker 2400b but that Mercedes may be maxed out with our Jeep behind. I wonder if such a thing exists or manufacturers just don't overbuild small motorhomes MC
