RE: looking for info

Cape Henlopen State Park is right up in the corner of Delaware by the ferry launch. Really pretty park, lots of hiking and biking. The campground is in the pine trees and they added some electric sites in the past 2 or 3 years. I've never camped there, but have visited the park many times. Not super easy access to the beach, but you can drive from the campground section to the beach parking lot and park for free. Easy access to Lewes, which is a pretty little town with a nice downtown area and a few restaurants and little shops. Fun little place to stay. Access to the more commercial Rehoboth Beach is a little more arduous. Driving is only about 10 miles, but its every bit of a 30-45 minute drive of frustration and red light. Its faster and straighter to bike through the Gordon Pond area about 6 miles to get to downtown. A little further south is Delaware Seashore State Park. This is where we normally stay. It is a full hookup campground that is little more than asphalt road and pads in the middle of the sand. No shade, few amenities, but easy walking access to an isolated beach and short easy drives to Bethany, Dewey and Rehoboth beaches. Since we go to the beach for the access to water and we enjoy walking and eating in Rehoboth we go to Seashore State Park.

RE: 2021 Cummins 1075 lbft peak torque at 1356 rpm

But, who's ***** is larger at the top of the hill? I mean, that's essentially what we are arguing at this point, isn't it? All 3 pickup trucks can haul to the top of Ike (which I've never once driven and may only do it once or twice in my life, after I've retired and am doing cross country trips) within a very small window of each other. So, once all three are at the top of the hill, we're only measuring size, right? Goodness gracious, is it camping season yet? Only 4.5 weeks until my Florida trip...

RE: Towing capacity vs max cargo weight rating

Are you sure it's not 2700lb payload? I know there are some oddly weak payload trucks out there but it would be unusual to find a truck with a 15k 5th Wheel/Gooseneck rating and only 1700lb payload. Is it some kind of gorped up harley edition where they added 500lb of bling eating up a lot of the payload? Not saying it would be impossible but a good chance you misread something. That was my thought as well. What is the point of a "Heavy Duty" truck with 1700 lbs of payload? And how do you make a F250 weigh 8300 lbs empty??? Must be a lot of Harley Davidson and Powerstroke stickers to weigh that much...

RE: Disney Transportation question

Tropical Palms in Kissimmee is just outside the parks. Haven't been there in 10 years or so, but we used to love going there. The money you save by not being in a Disney hotel or campground more than pays for the price and inconvenience of parking.

RE: Seven points campground Raystown lake PA

I won't name my favorite campground up there, because its already near impossible to get sites. But, I LOVE Raystown Lake. We go 3-4 times a year, a couple of weeklong trips and a couple longer weekends too. Have a couple friends that own and store boats up there. We get waterfront sites and really enjoy our time up there!

RE: SRW Tires

That is what I am talking about Rob. I don't see how the 350"s can be advertised as big load carriers if the tires are the same E rating as 250's. :h Your 17" wheels aren't rated to carry the weight that 18s or 20s rated to carry. I'm sure if you look at your axle ratings with 17s versus a same year 2500 with 18s then you will see several hundred lbs difference.

RE: Built-in Genset on 2021 F-150

The hybrid is rated to pull up to 12,700lbs and in the tests that I have seen outpulls everything else on the road short of big diesels. I'm not worried about max pull, I'm worried about PAYLOAD. I'm not sold on lighter half tons claiming 3000 lbs payload. I prefer the solid construction of a 3/4 or 1 ton when towing my family of 5 plus dogs.

RE: Built-in Genset on 2021 F-150

Looks awesome! I really like the idea and could absolutely put it to use. The question is COST and what trim levels will it be available on? And a half ton won't work for me anymore.

RE: Southern Maryland Sojourn

Didn't read the article but Point Lookout State Park is a beautiful park just south of Scotland. Well kept and extremely peaceful! It really is... but I caution against going in the summer. While the park is on the water, the sites aren't. The sites are on a marshy area with tall grasses full of ticks and bugs. It gets HOT and STUFFY there in the summertime. But St Mary's is a beautiful county with lots of nice older waterfront and fishing towns. If you are there, Chaptico Market has great fried chicken (not as good as it once was, but what is?) and Nicoletti's Pizza on 235 by Chancellors Run Rd is good local pizza (just don't expect NY style).

^ I understand the concept and terminology. I'm simply confused as to what your point is. So is he.

RE: Securing black water tank

A nice thick gauge metal strapping with a couple of self tapping screws to secure the strapping to the frame rails. That's the way most travel trailers are done at least.

RE: 2021 Cummins 1075 lbft peak torque at 1356 rpm

Nonsensical trolling that adds nothing of value... You are a 100-200K short there Fish! The original troll... Why he feels the need to come to Ram threads when he will NEVER own one and can't help himself but to talk trash. I can only imagine the sad life that leads to this... Please stop quoting him, it defeats the block feature.

RE: 2021 Cummins 1075 lbft peak torque at 1356 rpm

Your thinking the torque is 1075 lbft from 1356 to 1800 rpm, then drops to 807 lbft by the time the engine hits 2800 rpm .... maybe, I hope your right but I'm not convinced. I wish they would publish torque curves. Dude, are you trying to become the new fish? Why do you wish they would publish a torque curve? You aren't buying anything but a Ford, your screen name says so. Why do you constantly create and post in Ram threads? Are you that bored?

RE: Looking for portable electric space heater for rv!

My suggestion is to get one with a digital thermostat on it. That way you can set it to a temp that you find comfortable and know to always turn it to that. I don't think there is much difference besides digital and analog thermostats... maybe one has a remote or something. They work great inside campers. We always have two for our 32' bunkhouse camper. 1 is usually enough for most cooler nights for the whole camper. If its gonna be cold, we'll turn 2 on.

RE: determining pay load capacity

I can tell your confused. My state doesn't use a gvwr or gvw or gcw or tonnage or any weight number for registration . Taxes are paid in the registering state any way so my state just weighs axle/tire load numbers unless its a commercial vehicle. Like I said your registered gvwr doesn't mean krapz here or other states that don't use a gvw/gvwr. Now... what my point is some keep saying all a the OP has to do is register at a higher GVWR which of course isn't true for all states. I understand my confusion now. I'm responding to the OP, who lives in California, where weights are registered. I provided guidance to the OP, who lives in California, where weights are registered. My answer was valid to the OP, who lives in California, where weights are registered. You, on the other hand, gave an answer that isn't relevant to the OP, who lives in California, where weights are registered. Then you got very snarky because you live in a state that doesn't weigh vehicles, unlike the OP, who lives in California, where weights are registered. Sorry to get in the way of your thread de-railing and unnecessary attitude. It was quite rude on my part. OP, I'm sorry for giving you advice based upon your situation in the thread that you started to ask for guidance in your situation, who lives in California, where weights are registered...

RE: Is there something I am missing ?

Name calling certainly won't slow the spread of Covid. Maybe some common sense is in order. If I'm walking down a street in New York City, I'm wearing a mask. If I'm walking around a campground or RV park. No mask till I enter a building. I don't have any idea if masks work or not, one Dr says yes, another says no. To the OP, if the mask rules where you are aren't to your liking, pack up and move. EXACTLY!

RE: Is there something I am missing ?

:S I'm done, the stupidity around here is too much to bare. So asking you to back up your assertion is stupidity now? Yes. When you don't have an answer, you resort to ad hominem attacks. If that doesn't work, start calling them racist.

RE: Is there something I am missing ?

Simple, just look at the published stats. Look at the study that he posted. It showed that counties in Florida that implemented mask mandates averaged 23 cases a day. Counties that didn't averaged 22 cases a day. Then it went on to show other states that had mask mandates and the numbers, versus other states that had mask mandates. Masks aren't the panacea that people claim they are. N95 masks offer very good protection. Surgical masks offer decent protection. Regular cloth masks are minimally better then nothing at all. There were studies that showed gaiters are WORSE than no mask. Then when you consider that people are touching the outside ("infected" side) of masks when they take them off and not washing hands immediately, those masks have a greater chance of spreading disease. Washing hands, not touching your face and not getting into peoples personal space is FAR more effective and less restrictive. I feel like an idiot standing outside wearing a mask at a gas station in the 21 degree temperatures and watching my breath, and the breath of everyone around me, going right through or around their masks and exposing their spittle to everyone else. These pieces of cloth and/or paper masks aren't stopping anything.
