RE: Water at furnace creek in Death Valley np

Thanks Folks for the helpful responses. By the way, nothing I like more scolding responses that are rarely grounded in fact. Thanks for the suggestion of the water bandit and thanks for the report that the imagined water restrictions do not exist. For the record, I think most of us try to follow rules. Perhaps this faith will occasion some scolding. By the way, does anyone know of rv and camping oriented forums that are not subject to such behavior? A pm would be appreciated. Steve

Water at furnace creek in Death Valley np

Does anyone know, can you hook up a hose to the fresh water spigots at Furnace creek cg. In the national park? Thanks, Steve

RE: 2015 Winnebago View electric awning problem

OK, that's kind of amazing - did you get the pieces and do it yourself or have a dealer? Steve

2015 Winnebago View electric awning problem

Hi Folks, We are the original owners of this view. Love it. One problem since day 1 has been the awning. Main problem now - it often does not fully close on retraction. The motors work to rewind, it gets back to the place where the plastic cover is supposed to go around the awning and it just stops. Only way to get it back is for me or my wife to climb on the roof and manually lift that plastic sheath so it can go around the rolled awning. Any of you had this? Any ideas? I've had dealers look at it, and they have both told me I have no problem or that they fixed the problem. Thanks, Steve

RE: Sanitizing water system

Oh my goodness. I was asking if people AVOID treating the hot water heater. To be honest, sorry I asked.

Sanitizing water system

Hi all, I don’t drink or cook from my rv water system (bring bottled water.) it’s used for bathing and washing dishes. As such I only fully sanitize every year or even 2. My question is what most of you do about your hot water heater when sanitizing. Put the chemicals in it? Bypass? Don’t run sanitizing fluid through hot water lines? Thanks, Steve

RE: Refrigerator question for you class A campers

Yup meant residential. So the batteries are just run through a big inverter I assume. Can you go a day between generator runs in hot weather?

Refrigerator question for you class A campers

We have had a Winnebago View class C for about 5 years, and a 5er for the decade before. We think at times of a larger class A for part timing in retirement. Many have commercial refrigerators. How do you keep your food cold when camping in a no hookup CG such as a national park. Can’t run the generator 24/7. Thanks, Steve
