RE: 2015 Coachman Lepracan coach battery?

What I would do is start checking the voltages between the + and - battery posts, expect something in the 12.5v range. Then check between the + post an a ground. If you still have the 12.5v, then while keeping the ground meter contact, move the + meter connection out to the next connecting wire in the circuitry. Continue to move the + meter lead out along the connected wires until you lose the 12.5v. That's where your problem is.

RE: Suggestion For People Asking Tech Questions

So often the original question does not contain any where near enough information to provide a complete answer. You can only help people provide the correct answer when you provide enough details. A good reason for additional posts.

RE: No 12volt power

I don't see anything in your post about charging your battery. Running the generator for a few minutes won't do much to charge it, and starting the engine discharges the battery quickly. As Old-Biscuit said, you need to get a voltmeter and see what your battery is doing. Remember, it takes hours to charge the battery but no where near as long to discharge it.

RE: Snowing here and

A couple of weeks ago we had more than 2 feet of snow. It has now settled down and melted to about a foot of snow on the roof of the MH. No problem. This is far from the first time, or the heaviest snow, over the 12 years that we have owned he MH and it is still going strong. None of the RVs that are on dealer's lots are covered either.

RE: Storing Your RV

When we bought our Class C, about 12 years ago we had several mice inside that we finally trapped. After this I lay down under the RV and searched for any spots that mice could get in. I found several. I sealed these holes; expanding foam, metal screening, sheet metal, etc. I also noticed that the extension cord I was using didn't really block the hole the cord ran through. I made a sheet metal cover for the hole that blocked access around the extension cord. Haven't had a mouse in the RV since, at least 10 years.

RE: Storage on driveway

I'm in big trouble! I have about a foot of white stuff around my MH tires.

RE: 30A or 50A Choice

28' Class C with one AC. Came with a 30 Amp power cord. Have been to all parts of the US and most of Canada. I carry all of the adapters and have never missed having a 50 Amp power cord. It's not a big deal to turn off the AC for a few minutes to run the Microwave. Most of our camping in the south has been exploring the country and we spend most of out days exploring the area and are not in the MH during most of the days. Just our camping style.

RE: 10ga or 12ga help wanted

Here is a good chart for calculating the wire size for a given current and wire length.

RE: volt meter question

If you install inside make sure it is not in your direct line of sight for general use or sleeping. Could be very distracting. Very true. I have installed switches to turn my meters on or off.

RE: volt meter question

I installed a dc voltmeter, a dc ammeter and an ac volt-ammeter in the panel with the water heater switch and the generator control. I also put a switch to select either the battery voltage or the converter voltage. Happened to be an available place. Comes in very handy.

RE: inverter

An inverter changes 12vdc to 120 vac. Your generator should put out 120 vac so an inverter should not be required. Perhaps you are thinking of a converter which changes the 120vac to 12vdc??? When you plug into house power do you get 12vdc in your MH? Using your generator should do the same thing. Am I missing something?

RE: Late season busy time at SP

Here in the North East this time of the year becomes very busy with the "Leaf Peepers". The Season is just beginning and some of the leafs have started to change colors. It will probably reach it's peak within a couple of weeks.

RE: So do you all use level jacks of some sort ?

My RV did not come with jacks so I use 2 x 8 planks with tapered ends to level the RV when necessary. The "bouncing" doesn't bother us, I don't know if we are just used to it or what but we just don't notice it.

RE: Flirting With a Motorhome Adventure

I tow a 2010 Subaru and it tows fine. As far as I know, the newer Subarus, since about 2015, are no longer towable, and before that only the manual transmission Subarus were towable. As far as getting a motorhome or a trailer, My first RV was a trailer but we found it too small and replaced it with a larger trailer and wrecked it first trip out. Have been using a Class C ever since.

RE: How common are parks with "cheater" 50amp service?

If the parks allow free recharging of your toad, it seems fair that they should pay for gas for my toad.

I think badsix has it right. Most report that that they, me included, get cold water when the shower is turned back on. Others report it is hot. Depends whether the hot or cold has the highest pressure at the time.
tenbear 09/26/18 12:16pm General RVing Issues

Like Dutch said. This is normal. Check valves in the hot and cold lines to the shower control are the answer. Been there, done that.

RE: Planning first trip in the new MH, weekend, close to home

IMHO its far better to bundle up at night than try to keep the RV warm. In the morning you can warm up the RV in a pretty short time using the furnace.

RE: how much water for 3 nights

Since you don't say, I will make a few assumptions: You are going to a dry campsite, ie no hookups. You will take "Navy showers". That is, you wet yourself, turn off the shower, soap up, turn the shower on and quickly rinse off, shower off. You will not stand in the shower and enjoy the hot water. You will flush the toilet only briefly, no filling the toilet each time you flush. Half a tank should be plenty. Just a side comment: you probably won't feel much difference in the ride between a full tank and a half full tank.

RE: Setting tire pressure before hitting the road

Do as the truckers do, hit the tire with a hammer. If it sounds ok , it is.
