RE: Anyone pulling a Montana 3120 with a SRW short bed?

you must be the only one who thinks they are fine in the snowEveryone always says Duallys are no good in snow. When I was still working, my Dually was my "Go To Vehicle" during snow storms. Now I did have approx 700 or 800 pounds of sand bags in the box all behind the axles. I traveled 50 miles one way to work in Rochester, NY with Lake Effect from Lake Ontario. If roads were real bad, slow down and put it into 4 wheel high and motor on passing all the little 4x4 SUVs in the medium.

RE: removing shades & valance

Keep looking they are there I have done it many times to restring the shades like was said sometimes an L bracket and some screws in the corners on the inside they are hard to see sometimes hidden in fabric and yes they get stripped in the Cardboard walls so be carefull or like me you just make new holes next to the old ones my wall is starting to look like Swiss cheese:B

RE: Paperwork

Was never stopped in 8 years of full timing my guess is Cops have way more important things to do than pull over some old dude in a RV unless something is wrong or you were speeding YEAH RIGHT.. IF that ever happened I have my papers in the RV somewhere.....I think:B

RE: Looking for New Fifth Wheel with Bigger Windows

it is pretty simple like was mentioned before big windows less cabinet space smaller windows more we like more cabinets but we were full timers and we think the windows are big enough for us the Solitude above although very nice has ZERO cabinets up there

RE: Heated hose

YEP thats is a fact BE careful doing that for one or two nights fine other than that nope...how wold I know that???;)Handsome51, do tou know what risk you take trickling the water? Your sewer hose freezes ,backs up fills the grey then you wake to a flooded rig. Get by through a brief cold snap in the teens, but down in the singles and below the sewer hose will freeze solid. I have seen flooded rigs several times because of a frozen sewer hose What of the water wasted? A trickle of 1/2gal/ min X 10 hrs is 300gal. Hows the camp septic system going to handle that? Just use your onboard tank, no worries, no waste. Max, ex camp owner where, it gets cold

RE: Montana Fifth Wheel

Man I can tell you are from the Dakota's you are used to that weather you are like my Dad that would walk around in a T Shirt outside in a Blizzard we use to call him The Snowman but most of us in a 5er at 7 degrees with 35MPH winds are going to freeze our Butts Off without CRANKING the Furnace and fireplace you are Hard Core dude!:B, the Arctic Pkg on most of these 5er's is just Thermofoil in the underbelly and heated tanks

RE: Montana Fifth Wheel

I have owned and fulltimed in 3 Monty's and have loved all 3 but I and agree with above that is a bunch of Spew the Arctic Pkg on my 2015 Legacy is just Marketing Me and my wife have to crank the Furnace when it gets in the 30's little alone getting down in the teens and twenty's and that goes for all brands in that price range I feel sorry for people that got to fulltime in 5er's in Wyoming the Dakota's etc.. in the winter you will go thru ALOT of propane

RE: tranny temp got to 250!! yikes,, troubling questions

Don't have a Ford but I had a Bully dog tuner when I bought a used 2007 Duramax so I said great and tried it on tow mode on my maiden Voyage with my 5er I found out REAL QUICK going up my first stepper grade this thing SUCKS for towing my EGT's went too high and so did the tranny temps so I turned it back to Stock mode and all good again now I do not even use the tuner except for info Canned tuners suck IMO for towing

RE: KEYSTONE, Cougar front LED decor lights

I have done it so many times over the years that I forgot how they were originally wired to the led strips but anyway now I just twist them together and seal it with liquid tape or you could solder them as well as butt connectors are too big as far as fishing out the wire that fell in I had to drill out the little hole a little bigger in the cap and then used skinny extra long tweezers to grab it but it took about an hour to do this i lucked out the wire did not fall any farther

RE: KEYSTONE, Cougar front LED decor lights

Done it MANY times and these are the best ones I have used for my cap eyebrow lights AND awning lights https://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/single-color-flexible-led-strip-lights/ or just go to E Bay and type in RV led light strips and go with the cheap ones that will last about a year your call AND by the way when wiring up the new eyebrow light do one wire at a time or you may let go of the whole wire and it will fall back into the cap NOT FUN to fish back out.......how would I know that??? :B

RE: Replacing furnature

I have a real leather recliner I bought at Costco for $300. We have to turn it sideways so the slide will clear it when on the move. It also has to be pulled from the wall for full recline which is not a problem for us. Very comfortable, nap-worthy. Our Carriage furniture also failed. Don't they all;) I don't even bother with the Bonded leather anymore I just get Microfiber Recliners and a bonus Cats hate Clawing on them:B

RE: Bike rack front vs rear

for Years I hauled 2 Mopeds on my Draw-tite front Hitch with a motorcycle carrier with no problems I like it when I can see them also some folks say it cuts down wind flow to the radiator but I never experienced that and yes they got bugs on them but so what just cleaned them up when I got to the next Resort
