RE: Help!!! Frame broke

Getting it weighed now is a moot point as we can't even move it since the frame is broke and it had to be hauled on a flat bed just to get it away from the accident scene. Wait, what? This is the first we've heard about it being in an accident.

RE: Mud Flaps

ProFlaps on the truck, and also RockTamers for the hitch. They are the best hitch mounted mud flaps I have seen.

RE: Ford F-150 what do I need for towing?

find the TT that you want/need. size truck to fit. bumpy Ditto. Pick the cart then get the horse to match what it weighs.

RE: Power Cable Extension options ??

"By US code they are supposed to be on the left rear of a site". I highly doubt that there is a code that makes this statement? Ditto.

RE: Gas TV for a year long trip

If you get a gas truck, skip the in bed tank.... go with a larger capacity tank that replaces the factory tank. I think Transfer Flow makes them, so does Titan Tank. If I were doing a trip for that length of time and distance, I'd go diesel.

RE: Might be buying a Dually....

While anything available can be special ordered I think it would be difficult at best to purchase (off the lot) anything that was NOT 4X4 and crew cab these days. Around here it seems that is all dealers have in inventory. Ditto for Washington state dealers. THe only thing I see in a 2WD truck on a dealer's lot is a "work truck" / commercial / fleet style vehicle, standard cab usually, and they are always white.

RE: New Trailer Thoughts

I would recommend not getting a "Fiberglass" exterior from any manufacturer. That "great" looking skin is backed by wood! When moisture penetrates the seams you get the "dreaded" delamination, which will cost you at least 10% in resale value!!! (The exception is those rv's built with Azdel backing). So look at the "old" aluminum sided rv's. Maintain the seals and all is well. Seals need maintained on Aluminum trailers too, otherwise they leak and rot.

RE: clay bar and wax

For normal waxing, I recommend Meguiar's No. 50 Cleaner Wax. This is a simple one step wax that will clean off light oxidation and minor scratches and protect and shine the GEL COAT. When did Filon start having a Gel Coat finish to it?

Hi, Im sure this has been asked before What's your question?

RE: Does anyone make 'em anymore?

Most manufacturers will build the interior to meet your needs. I haven't found this to be the case with mass produced units. Manufacturers cater to the dealers, and don't do custom builds for a given customer.

RE: Opinions on Keystone Hideout

Not a fan of Keystone (or any rig) that uses Lippert Frames. I saw some pretty sketchy frames when I was hauling their units to dealers from the factory in Pendleton, OR I saw multiple RV frames that the I-Beams were spliced together from two shorter pieces of I-beam.

RE: Trailer length restrictions

If making reservations, the site will have a length on it. That's the length of the site, the overall length. Pretty cut and dry from my perspective. It would be odd to state a max length "trailer" that would fit, because there's a hundred different length tow vehicle lengths, so then the max trailer length becomes meaningless.

RE: Picking up new camper

Looks nice. Might be about ready for new tires though being a 2015 model year. Check the date codes on the tires. Out of precaution, I'd probable replace them anyway. Goodyear Endurance is looking to be a good tire.

RE: Lance versus Arctic Fox, fridge in wall slide?

Are these fans installed from factory, or are these the add-ons I'll need to install? Yes, Fan is installed. Northwood installs them when the camper is built

RE: Towing a horse trailer with TC

Did you use any kind of hitch extension to do it? If the camper extends past the rear of the truck, then yes, you will need a hitch extension, otherwise you run the risk of the trialer contacting the truck when turning.
