RE: Quarantine Mods?

Gee, Ralph, can I watch you replace your controller from across the street with binoculars? Sounds fun :( I have a better idea. You come over to the coast and do it and I'll "supervise". :B Won't be as bad as replacing the water pump last year, but still will require getting the old body into uncomfortable positions. :)At my age all positions are uncomfortable:B

RE: Drop down bed extension

Thanks for your advice, I'm 74 and doing the ladder thing is just plane dangerous for me these days. Think I'll have to re think my plans.

Drop down bed extension

On shorter TH the single drop down bed only lowers enough to still need a ladder. Can you extend the lowering rails so the bed will drop enough that you don't need a ladder, normal bed height?

replacement battery door

Does anybody know of a company that makes replacement doors for RV's? I'm talking the door for the battery box on my 95 Lance. I'm searching RV salvage but would consider having one made, thanks.

RE: A Camp-Away-from-Quartzsite-with-SxS Question

Been camping off Plamosa Rd for I don't how many years and there's trails to anywhere you'd want to go. I go over there 4 or 5 times a winter to visit snowbird friend and ride as it's only 3hrs. from home to set up. Also make sure I fill up with diesel while there, about 80 cents cheaper per gallon.

RE: Moki Dugway, can I do it?

No sweat, tour buses use it all the time. Just keep a eye out for another big rig going the other way. You'll probably have more of a problem if you take the road out to Muley point.

RE: Propane tank recertification

As above, keep them clean with fresh paint, don't set on dirt, just common sense. The only thing that can go wrong is the valve going out, easy to replace. Not much to take care of. as far as dents, you really have to work at them to dent a tank. The only things that will make your tank bad is pitting and dents other than that, just the valve as stated above.

RE: Propane tank recertification

I worked for Amerigas the last 15 years I worked before retirement and here's what we did for inspection. All visual, decals , dents and pitting due to rust, that was it. Tanks just don't wear out, I've seen home tanks in the field from the early 40's. By the way exchange tanks weather Blue Rhino or Amerigas are not filled to 80% there all shy by about 1 gallon. If you want to replace your exsisting 20lb tank that's a good way to go other than that it's a rip off. Again tanks don't where out with maintenance!!! I'm sure some one is going to argue with me on that.

RE: Propane tank recertification

Not at all, any propane dealer will do it around here.

RE: Battery question

Normal. 13.5 is charging, 12.7 full charge resting, 12.2 60% charge in use. You are good to go and the solar is working well for you. The 12 Volt Side of LifeGood read, thanks for posting.

RE: Battery question

You’re saying it reads 12.5v in the morning but won’t run the heater. Doesn’t make sense. Or are you saying you run the heater and kill the battery quickly? It will run the heater fine but kills the battery quickly.

RE: Battery question

Battery question

I have 1 group 27 battery in my Lance 185s TC, I only use it for LED lights and the water pump. My problem is as the sun sets and I'm reading say 13.5v on my meter, within 3 hrs.or less it's reading 12.5, by early morning it's still at 12.5. Why the fast drop in those first 3hours then not at all overnight. It leaves me with not enough power for me to use my heater in the am to take the chill of in the camper. I have a 100w solar panel that is enough for my min. need for juice, I don't remember having this problem in the past. Would this be that my battery is on it's way out or could it be something else? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I haven't done a load test on the battery yet but it's not that old of a battery for it to be on it's way out.

RE: Jalama Beach County Park In California

If you go to the top using the road that goes thru the Elect only level you shouldn't have any problem.
