RE: Breakaway Cable on Andersen Hitch.

Thanks for all of the replies. The ball was high enough that I was able to thread it through the bottom hole and lock the cable against itself.

Breakaway Cable on Andersen Hitch.

For those of you that use the Andersen Ultimate Hitch, how do you hook up the Breakaway Cable? I thought, about putting it over the Ball on the Hitch, then hooking up the Coupler on top of it. Then I thought, it might prevent me from disengaging the Coupler from the Hitch when I want to disconnect. How do others do it?

RE: Slider

I went to an Andersen Hitch Dealer. He tried to tell me it wouldn't work. I told him come on Guys. I have been a member of for 15 years. Many people love those hitches. You need to get educated about your product if you are going to sell them.

I like it so well here, that when my wife passed away, I moved here permanently.

I made a mistake on my previous post which I corrected. The Office bar and grill is at 1116 Pecan, not 1611.

RE: I Was Stimulated Today

What does someone do who didn't get the first one either? I was going to tell her to go to the IRS Office.

Is the border still closed? I've heard conflicting officially it's closed but you can still cross. The border at Nuevo Progresso is open 24/7.

you would likely want to allow more than one day there are approximately 400 RV parks and retirement communities in the valley. going from Brownsville and South Padre island all the way to Palmview and beyond. We just want to visit the area. Not looking for a park. I see you mentioned South Padre Island. That is nice. If you are into country music, you can visit the freddy fender museum in San Benito. I like going across the border to Nuevo Progresso. Going to Reynosa would be a bad Idea. I am in mission bell, rv resort in Mission. There was a couple from mission bell that went to Reynosa a couple of years ago. While they were there, their car was stolen. You will find that the people here are very nice. Unlike Florida where they merely tolerate Snowbirds, Here in the Riogrande Valley, they welcome you. I also enjoy Going to Jimmy's egg restaurant. They are very good. They are open for breakfast and lunch. They close at 2pm. There is one on Shary Road just off of business 83, and one on 10th Street at nolana. If you enjoy a beer or a mixed drink in a friendly atmosphere, go to the skein dhu scottish pub located on the corner of griffin parkway and shary road. It is like a cheers bar. It opens through the week at 1pm. I think the address to the pub is 2406 E griffin parkway in Mission. There is a danny's mexican restaurant next to the skein dhu. There is also a chinese restaurant two doors down that has excellent prices. It is called chopstix. At chopstix, you get a lot of food for a little bit of money. If you like a nice place for the evening meal that has good food and a quiet atmosphere, you may want to try the office bar and grill located at 1116 pecan blvd in Mcallen. I hope all of this helps. Have a great day.

RE: Something I've not seen before.

A guy was on Facebook looking for a bed to replace his damaged one. Seems his trailer came loose and crunched his bed. I was concerned because I could see the hitch was a B&W Companion. Take a look. height=400 height=400 It looks like the weld failed. It was mot welded properly to begin with. If a piece of metal is properly welded, if it breaks it will break anywhere but the weld. It looks like he has a legitimate claim against Lippert.

RE: I Was Stimulated Today

The VA told me that it is in the process of being resolved. I have The Hildago County Texas Veteran's organization helping. I also called another Veteran's group and I had a VSO call the VA on my behalf. I spoke the American Legion. The DAV told me if it isn't reinstated by Friday, to let them know. I will call the VA back sometime tomorrow. I found out from many years in the Army if you want to get things done, approach the problem from as many different directions as possible. That way if someone drops the ball, you still get things done. When I applied for CHAMPVA for my wife, the dept of veterans affairs said it would take a year. I went right around the corner in the federal bldg in Nashville, TN to the DAV. It was approved within a week. That's how you get things done when dealing with the government.

RE: I Was Stimulated Today

I got my stimulus money on the 4th. Do Y'all think there will be a 3rd round of stimulus money forthcoming? With the VA declaring me dead when I reported my Wife's death, it did nor come a minute too soon. I am working feverishly to get that corrected.

RE: Slider

I have been checking out Anderson hitches. The have 3 models. There is the gooseneck mount, the toolbox model, and the rail mount model. Which model is recommended? I already have a gooseneck hitch ball. Then that would be the one with the gooseneck connection . What kind of weight are you towing ? I have the rail mount steel version . I already had the frame adapter that goes to the OE puck system for another hitch that took the standard rails . I would recommend the rail mount ,but you would need bed rails if you don't already have them. The one pictured above is the one I have. Wouldn't tow with anything else after having the Andersen , having towed with both conventional ,and the Andersen I will be towing a Forest River Sierra 5th Wheel. It weighs just over ten thousand pounds. I think it is 10,010.

RE: VA and Social Security Advice.

Thanks for the replies. As for the SS, I did check with the Social Security website. It shows a pending deposit. Ir looks like I am ok there. Now I only have to worry about the VA.
