Light on Gas water heater switch

The light on the switch for the gas water heater stopped lighting up. I checked and the gas water heater is operating normally. Any ideas about what the problem is and how to fix it ? Thanks in advance.

RE: Best place to sell class A motorhome

Do you want to SELL it or do you want someone else to sell it. If you want to actually take the time to sell your RV, Craigslist works great, as long as you know how to sort the tire-kickers from the buyers. I've sold two RV's on Craigslist and never had any hassle at all. I got several email inquires but it was easy to sort out the ones that showed promise. I sold both of mine for well above NADA and both sold at my full asking price. Just make sure that you list everything the coach has, and all of the extras that go with it. Include a lot of pictures. Tell why you bought the coach and why you are selling it. Produce all of your records and manuals. I added an extra $3000 to the sales price and allowed the new buyer to pick the brand of tires that he wanted and I had them installed and balanced. I did this because the question I was asked most often was about the tire age. I also payed for the new buyer to spend two nights at a local RV park to learn all of the systems. Naturally these were all done after the sale was completed but they showed that I had confidence in my RV and was willing to back it up. Again, I got full asking price which was well above NADA. It's your choice. You can keep reducing the price until you give it away, which is what a lot of people do, or you can put up with a few tire kickers and save yourself thousands. Your choice. Thank you. That was a lot of helpful information.

RE: Best place to sell class A motorhome

To me 'no activity' means it's priced too high. Just like with brick & mortar homes, EVERY home is sellable -- it just has to be priced right. There is no such thing as an unsellable home, and the same holds true for RV's. Start systematically lowering your price. You'll find the market when you hit the sweet spot, and it will sell. We have already lowered the price twice and we are significantly lower than comparable units. I really need advice on where to list.

RE: What to use for GPS

Thanks everyone. It appears Garmin is using another company for updates, which requires charging me again. That really stinks... What about cell RV map apps? We love google maps as they always have the latest info. Unfortunately, Google does not provide assistance to rv'ers! Used Google one time in Oregon for our motorhome and ended up on a road only wide enough for us! Really hairy. So anyone out there using a cell app that gives RV map info that they like? Dave

What to use for GPS

Went to update my Garmin (RV 760) this morning. I got sent to a site that wanted to charge me for updates. This unit is supposed to have lifetime maps. Any advice on how to get those updates ? Failing that is there an app to use on a phone that is reliable and reasonably priced ? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Body wraps

Does anyone have information getting a full body wrap for a motorhome versus full body paint ? Cost Durability. We have some bubbling spots on the paint that need repainting. We were quoted outrageous amounts for the work. Am considering getting a full body wrap instead. Any experiences or advice would be welcome.

Itasca class A needs accents repainted

We've had our Itasca Sunrise about 15 years and have enjoyed little touch up painting. However, this last year has taken a toll on the black accents. They are bubbling and HAVE to be addressed. Does anyone know a good RV Painter in the Sacramento/Roseville, California area. We want to do it right as the motorhome has been good to us. Appreciate your thoughts. David & Brenda

Thor taking Tiffin ???

I just read an article in Family RVing about Thor becoming a partner in Tiffin. As I read further, it appears that Thor might be acquiring Tiffin. Am I misreading the article ?

Oil for generator

I'm feeling kinda stupid. I cannot find my owner's manual and can't remember what weight of oil to use in the generator. Would appreciate any advice. It's an Onan 5500. Thanks in advance.

RE: Class A Generator Repair - Sacramento, CA Area

Five month waiting list???? Holy Cow! What make and model generator do you have? What is it doing or not doing? We might be able to offer some suggestions. It is an Onan 5500. It is leaking oil. I suspected it from a stain it left on the pavement. I checked the dip stick and it doesn't even register any oil.

Class A Generator Repair - Sacramento, CA Area

I have been looking for a reliable company in the sacramento, ca area that does generator repair. None of the local RV repair places (Yuba City) do their own generator repairs and refer me to Holley Generator in Rancho Cordova. Unfortunately, Holley has a five month waiting period. Does anyone have a good recommendation ? Thanks much for any assistance.
