RE: Radial Tire Valve Core Failures

We did a bead balance one time and had this problem. Replacing the valve stems will not solve anything IMHO. WE just lived with it. But relied on the TPMS to tell us when it was time put air in the tires. My front radial tires are Toyo 245/75R 22.5. When checking air pressure (105 pounds), I occasionally have the cores fail which allows air to escape dramatically, and I need to scramble to get the cap back on the valve stem on or replace the cores. This time I took it to Les Schwab Tires for them to check air pressures and to replace the valve cores. Both front tire valve cores had failed. This seems to happen about every 6 months. Does anyone else have this issue. They said that it is common with high pressure tires?

RE: Class A Low Bridge Accident

Your time is coming! The guy got what he deserved. There is no shortage of the incompetent on the roads for whatever reason, especially recently. That applies to everything from the largest class A down to Dodge Neons. You currently have a high percentage who think traffic laws and common sense, along with common courtesy, no longer apply since Covid came along. Not to mention an 80 yr old geezer operating 10 tons of motorhome.

RE: Class A Low Bridge Accident

I remember seeing this bridge or another like it om 60 minutes. I worked in a building that had a second story above a road way. They placed hanging chains before you could enter it to rake the top of the vehicle as it passed. We still had a coke truck ignore the warning and hit it. We with the gee wizz electronic stuff today you would think the could rig a height device wired to a stop light that would detect a over height vehicle and trigger the stop light before the bridge. Would not turn green until you backed up and turned around.

RE: Used class a

2000 to 2004 Newmar products. So I have been researching class a dps and I am thinking more about a early 2000 to mid 2000 year models. I want around a 36 footer with independent front end. I don't like where most homes have the tv, up front would hurt my wife and my necks. I want one with a diesel motor with plenty of hp. Also want want one with a fiberglass roof. Solar would be nice we boondock mostly. Any one care comment on a model and brand. With keeping my budget price around 59000$ anyone hav any suggestions thanks. I have been looking at the Winnebagojourney 36 footer.

RE: Outrageous CA registration fee!

So tell me what you gas tax is! Last December we bought a 2000 Airstream Land Yacht. They want $775 to register it for 2022! WTH? We never paid anything like that much before on our previous motorhome. Is this some new punishment from our a-hole governor for our "carbon footprint" or some such nonsense? Does anyone know what's going on? We are furious! We love living here for the climate and geography but this has to be the worst governed state in the union. You may as well get used to it, under the current valuation to registration charges, in four or five years it will go down to about $600. For the first time, Californians have the opportunity to pay more for vehicle registration than many pay for insurance! Aparently the residents like it, 66% just voted to keep the administration in dictatorship. You should enjoy your gas prices, it is only $7 a gallon close to you, coming to your neighborhood soon. Click Here "this has to be the worst governed state in the union" You are just figuring this out now?

RE: Class As in cold weather?

Not all diesel Class A have an aqua hot system! If that is what you want check it out before buying! Class A diesel units are going to have some version of Aquahot diesel fired baseboard heat. This also heats the wet bays and keeps everything nice and toasty. If the unit you look at does not have this then pass. All the plumbing in inside the coach so even if it got really, really cold you could add a small electric heater or a light bulb or 2 to the wet bays and you will be fine. We have traveled in most every weather you can imagine and we have been fine. I must say that when the company sent us to ND in January (20 below zero) we passed and drove our car and stayed in a hotel!

RE: Anyone know of a seller for a dash cover rug or mat

Our Boston road on the dash every time we went some where. Personally I would keep the dog off the dash. When we bought our MH the people had hooks on each side to put up a mesh net that kept their dogs off the dash

RE: Roadside Assistance

We have had both and COACH NETwins hands down without question. WHO HAVE YOU USED AND BEEN VERY SATISFIED WITH HAVING A CLASS A and needing a tow or need a tire due to a flat and we do not carry a spare. Esp with maybe locked up rear wheel since usually they would tow by lifting front end and tow with rear wheels on the ground. So looking for the best at difficult situations. AND I am looking for best at best dispatching since I once had a situation with the Class A, told dispatch, exactly what the problem was and that it was a Class A motorhome 36ft long and she sent a pickup truck. SO want a good Roadside Assistance company to go with and what it cost you for a year of service. Thanks.

RE: Gen leaking fuel

X2 and I had one Did you check the fuel hoses and connections? The rubber hoses can rot or wear from rubbing against something.

RE: How long to build Class A Gas motorhome

When we ordered ours we had an invoice printed out the same day. No Vin Number was given. No increase in price when it arrived. Of course that was in 2002. Hey dougrainer, I’m curious about something. When he ordered the motorhome did he get an invoice with all the pricing? And even more critical, did the invoice contain a VIN number? My invoice shows all those things and I don’t know how, regardless of how things have gone up, they could increase my price? Not when my coach is VIN specific.
