We made the trip from Georgia in 2013. I blogged about the entire trip. Here is a link to the list of campgrounds where we stayed https://wanderingdawgs.com/campground-list/. There is a search box near the bottom of the page where you can search for a place and find posts about the place. There is also a link at the top of the page to maps of our trip.
Except for Banff and Teklanika in Denali we had no reservations anywhere. I don't know what it is like these days but we never had trouble finding a place to stay.
