RE: California DL towing an Exactly 10,000 lb GVWR trailer

The Handbook also states for a regular class C license: If the towing vehicle weighs 4,000 lbs. or more unladen, you may tow a: Trailer coach not exceeding 9,000 lbs. gross. I suppose the law says the same thing but don't know how to check that.

RE: Strongback Chairs

We have used two for years. Very comfortable with significant lower back support. I left them with the trailer and yesterday, on a picnic, we sat in our older chairs that are superficially the same as the Strongback and my latest task from my wife is to get the Strongback chairs home. The only negative is their customer support. The screw came loose and was lost that attached the cup holder to the chair. I called Strongback and their response was that they do not supply parts for their chairs. That was several years ago. Maybe they are better now.

RE: Dish TV Pay-As-You-Go RV Plan

I think the conflicting information comes from two different solutions. One is the 30 day plan and does not require another plan with Dish. The other is extending a home plan to a RV. I have the 30 day plan and it is good for 30 days as Ford Truck Guy describes.

RE: Furnace short cycling

Here is an extensive (150 replies) discussion of your problem. The solution is to add more vents.

RE: Fireplace removal and repurposing space

If I had an actual woodburning fireplace in my RV, or even a little wood stove, I'd be very hard pressed to give that up. That's a hypothetical situiaton however. There are small wood burning stoves made for boats that could be installed in a trailer. Years ago I saw an ad for one that burned pieces of wood that looked like popcicle sticks.

RE: Germs, viruses and fuel pump handles and doors

I do know that I now have to buy plastic bags where before the ban I reused the ones from the grocery store. I am not sure that that is an environmental win. I am especially annoyed that the CA legislature bribed the grocery industry with my money by requiring them to charge me for paper bags I formerly got for free.

RE: Germs, viruses and fuel pump handles and doors

I use the paper towels almost always available at gas stations to protect my hands and fingers. The pump handle and the buttons on the card input are my concern.

RE: Moisture under mattress solutions please

When I had a boat the recommendation was for a cross fiber material used for filters. I think it is available at the big box hardware stores in large sizes. Cut it to fit and put it under the mattress. There are also solutions made for boats but they are more expensive.

RE: More campers than parks

Twin Falls and onwards.:( I just got back from Twin Falls and visiting my sister. The bridge over the Snake River is the only bridge in the US where base jumping is legal. We saw several parachuters jump off. We were were told that people come from all over the world to jump off the bridge. It is well worth a stop.
