RE: How do I pop this cover off to replace the ceiling light

That looks like a standard can light. Have you tried pulling the decorative rim straight down using both hands?

RE: Securing Portable AC unit When traveling

How will you be handling the warm air exhaust from the AC or condensation? Why a portable unit versus existing AC units? Just curious. Or existing system just not enough? We will run our one rooftop AC and the dash AC if needed.

RE: 2018 Chevy Sonic Front Wheel Drive...

Not sure the exact nature of the question, but yes you can tow a Chevy Sonic on a dolly, some models can be towed 4 down. If you’re concerned about weights, the combo of a dolly and sonic (unless loaded with rocks) should be well below your max tow numbers. I had a 2013 Sonic w/automatic and towed it 4 down. Good car. Newer ones have more electronics and such so consult your manual on the exact procedures required to tow it.

RE: What size waste tank to buy?

Most states prohibit dumping grey on the ground. It ain’t just soapy water. There are nasty things from showers, food from washing dishes, and who knows what else. If you see someone doing that, do the rest of us a good turn and report them. Don’t want my grand kid walking through a dump site.

RE: Flying J RV discount Card

I gave up on the flying J discount as more times than not it wouldn’t work. Not worth the hassle for a $1.50.

RE: i pad or ?

I switched to iPad/iPhone years ago from a PC/Windows environment and won’t go back. Much more secure from malware, fewer updates, but a bit pricier than Windows based products. IMO well worth it. I used to have the opinion that Apples systems are too closed. For what 90+ percent of people need, closed is a good thing.

RE: 2017 f150 flat tow light kit?

Not sure why the power will be on. Read the Ford manual section for recreational towing. But properly installed, the taillights are powered by the motorhome, not the truck. You don’t say what break system you plan to use, but NSA makes one where no power is required at truck.

Search on Amazon. $167.

RE: Towing Motorhome

Had to have a 2000 Hurricane towed. Unhooked drive train, towed it from the front.

RE: Strong urine smell in bathroom

I get an ultraviolet light and search for urine. Also if you have the vent open you may be getting the fumes from the vent pipe.

RE: Wireless Provider Gripe

If I read it right, the op is already on Autopay or is ok with using a credit card. The complaint is they now what access to a bank account or a debit card associated to a bank account. A dedicated bank account for paying t-mobile and other services is a good one. Limits exposure. I’d give the the bank account number instead of a debit card.

RE: Charleston SC

Ladson KOA is a dump. Its only redeeming value is it close to Charleston. The KOA in Mt. Pleasant is great. James Island County Park is good too. Another place that’s good is Oak Plantation Campground.

RE: Waxing cab over section

It’s brand new. I’d use a spray on “wax” and a wash mitt on a pole to spread it out. No buffing necessary. Wash Wax All makes a good product but there are others.

RE: Choosing a new house battery

I would think being hooked to power, any battery would do.

RE: GPS for eBike

Some GPS units need 12v power which perhaps you can get from the eBike. It it were me, and an apple fan, I’d get him an Apple Watch with a cell plan. It has Maps where he can find his way, call 911 automatically if he falls and gets hurt, and you can call him on the watch, or use Find My app on your phone (iPhone) or computer to find him if needed. Just something to consider. If you’re going to send a pre teen out on a eBike which can go for miles may be worth a look.

RE: question about procedure

Yep, too much new technology to relive the “Wax On / Wax Off” effort with modern paint and clear coats, and washing products and “Spray On / Wipe Off” products like Wash Wax All. To the OP: Nice shine though. I knew there was good reason I never use paste wax. :)

RE: Motorhomes with 19.5 vs 22.5 tires

Go drive them, but don’t just take them around the block. Take them on an interstate at the speed you plan to drive. Take them on some smooth roads, and on some less well maintained, over some bridges. My 31’ does real well on good roads, becomes a bit harsh on older roads, and does poorly where road meets bridge if not a smooth joint. When we bought ours the exact same floor plan was offered with 19.5 tires in the BayStar Sport line and with 22.5 in the bigger BayStar line. We would have preferred the BayStar but it was too tall for our existing carport.

RE: Should be simple WiFi question, but???

If it’s like my router, if they bands are named the same, the router will auto select which one to connect to. What the criteria is I have no clue. On mine I named them Name-2, Name-5. Then when I want to connect I’m presented with a choice.

RE: Is it better to be hooked to short power in storage? or not?

Don’t use a storage facility as I built a nice carport for it and our two cars. It stays plugged in when not in use. I keep the fridge on, AC on to control humidity and of course to keep batteries charged.

RE: Atwood hot water heater

When was the last time you serviced the water heater? As above, clean out the burner tube, check the flame for proper burn - blue flame not yellow.
