RE: surge protector and water filters

When we bought our first RV, it had a clog in an elbow of an inside pipe right after we bought it.
After that, I never allowed water into the rig without at least a sediment filter.
When we got out of RVing, i was to the point that I had a complete home made system built into a milk crate that filtered everything, included a pressure regulator and could have been set outside or plumbed into the storage bay when cold or very hot out. It eventually morphed into a manifold system in our 5ver bay....
As for surge protection, I don't recall using one, but do intend to on the future.
I used standard household filters.

RE: RGV

There are many flea markets and farmers markets throughout the valley.
fruit and produce is almost giveaway cheap.
A few less vendors this year due to covid.
This alone makes me want to try RGV instead of Az!

RE: Thor or Forest River - Warranty and reputation

My dad bought a 2020 Thor Class C, and has filed under oregon state lemon law as it can't seem to keep the starter battery to last more than a few days at a time.
CW had it many times, and found a sort in the hydraulics, that they thought was the culprit....but nope.
It's now at a Ford dealer to get looked at...

RE: Covid 19 warning

Has anyone seen how the Covid death rates compare to death rates of the "regular" flu this season?

RE: Covid 19 warning

I hadn't gotten a flu vaccination in 20yrs, and hadn't gotten the flu.
When I started driving school bus and volunteering at the VA, I had to get vaccination...both those times I got the flu. Could have just been the exposure rate. The second time, I was asymptomatic.
On another note, has anyone hear seen/heard the interview Glenn Beck did with Dr. Gold??

RE: Use Verizon IPhone hotspot with Dish Hopper for On Demand?

I use an iPhone as a hotspot. They time out every so often and have to be reconnected. I was told there is no way to change the setting. I just had to do it again...

RE: Forever Fan

How loud is this fan?
I see it's 60 or so dbls.
I wonder if it's annoying if you used it in a roof vent. It looks to move a good amount of air.

RE: Android vs Apple

I prefer the simplicity of Android.
I've tried Apple and Android.
Apple always seemed to need a step or to more to accomplish the same task as it would on an Android.....That being said, the latest Android update has seemed to add extra steps now, to a few processes. Just enough to annoy me and reminded why I went android.
If my iPhone 8 wasn't so glitchy with disconnecting the hotspot, and the lack of tether for service to another device, it would almost be worth going back.

RE: Wisconsin Campgrounds

Being an Illinois resident, I can still relate to this.
I live on a small lake in the southern part of the state.
This time of year it's usually still quiet here.
As soon as they peoples started the "Stay at Home" routine, it's been busy almost everyday.
It's not a problem with them being on the water, but many are not from around here, and end up in the couple remote places we can shop at without going to a large town where there are many more potential sick folks roaming around..

RE: Chromebook questions

Im on my seconde CB.
They work like an Android pn, but not as many or good apps. They are not like a tablet.
They can have storage for docs and such, and some are expandable.
They are good for browsing.
Docs can be saved to numerous "Cloud" type storage providers...but docs can be wonky on different ones depending on the programs used to make them.
Both the ones I had, have automatic updates for security. Only need to restart and they are in effect.....thats about the only thing I like about them.
They suffice. BTW them, tablets and phones, I haven't touched a windows computer in about 8 or 9 years....I do miss them for certain things..
