I will keep everyone posted on this.
I have a lot to learn first.
Used seats may be the way to go.

RE: Replace OEM seat base with air ride seat base on Chevy 3500

Thank you everyone for your reply.
Maybe a air inflated cushion would be a lot easier way to go.
I am trying to make the driver a lot more comfortable. Brenda does all the driving, since I have a serious vision loss.
A lot of things to consider.

Replace OEM seat base with air ride seat base on Chevy 3500

Good morning everyone.
We arrived home yesterday, from our trip back from our snowbird site in central FL. We used I 75, I 24, I 57 , I 55 to our home here in Crystal City, 35 miles south of St. Louis, MO.
OMG, OMG, OMG, at times the roads were AWFUL!!! There were times I thought we should have had the seat belt hookup that is used in NASCAR race cars. I have thought about this before, but never did much research on the matter. We plan to spend more time on the road. Not getting any younger.
Well into the senior years.
I am going to research air ride seat base replacement to the OEM seat base in our 2014 Chevy 3500 dually. We carry a large truck camper. Lance 1172.
Has anyone changed out their OEM seat base for a air ride seat base?
Or has anyone change out the OEM seats for air ride seats?
I did a search and did not find any post on this.
Awful roads.
Your thought would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Life Member info dese not show up any more. why?

??????????????????????????????//
I checked the list of forums and can not find a spot to ask this question.
I noticed on my last post that it does not show that I am a =Life Member. It used to show. Where do reset to show this info?
Or is there a spot where this question should be moved to?
Thank you

RE: The Emotions in a TC

Yessssssss, we love our truck camper. Bought it used. It was 6 months old. Previous owner said it was not BIG ENOUGH for them. So to get enough BIG, they were going for a Class A 43' diesel pusher. Lucky for us.
We have a 40' fifth wheel we keep at our snowbird site in central Florida. We got a truck camper because Brenda is not to keen on puling the fifth wheel anymore. She dose all the driving because I have lost 95% of my central vision because of having Macular Degeneration.
We purchased the truck camper last May. Have had some really great trips with it already. This is my fourth truck camper, this is Brenda's first truck camper. I had 2 RealLite 1200's, they were awesome. Can't remember the name of the other. We went to St. Augustine to see a used truck camper. The exact model we wanted. Lance 1172. She said. OOO Yeah this is it. I knew then I would have another truck camper. WWWAAAHHHOOOOO

Thank you for the reply. Like you we are retired, many years. I will keep playing with it. There is a possibility that it could be nothing more than operator error LOLOLOLOL I will try what you are doing.

Thank you for the reply. I will check my settings in Basecamp and on the GPS to make sure they match. I would really like to use Basecamp. I have spent some time learning how to use it. It is a great program.

Thank you for the reply.
I used to do that, but now Basecamp does not follow the route that I made with waypoints. At times it will just go wandering around the countryside and finally get back to the last waypoint that had placed.
Can't have that going on. I am using the latest map, and have uninstalled and installed Basecamp and it still does the wandering around.
Now viewing videos of RV Trip Wizard to learn more about it.

RE: Garmin Basecamp Problems

Thank you for the reply. When you are creating a route, using waypoints, are you creating the route on the RV 890 or on Basecamp?
I have very serious vision issue. I can not help in navigation when on the road. I can set up a route on the laptop and export it to the gps, because I use a reading aide device . I have looked at RV Trip Wizard, but have not really explored it. I really want to be able to export the created route to the gps.
I will have to explore RV Trip Wizard more to see if a created route can be exported to the gps.

Garmin Basecamp Problems

Good morning fellow truck campers.
I recently purchased the Garmin RV 890, I really like it. I have always purchased a Garmin gps. I have been learning Basecamp, I like it.
I can pick my own route and then export it to the RV890. When I open Basecamp and connect the gps to my laptop, Basecamp opens a small window, "Problem connecting to the device, error code, garmin/gpx/ current.gpx. I googled the error code and Garmin gives steps to delete the issue. I follow the step and deleted the corrupt current gpx file.
Then I start to mark my route, by placing waypoints, but somewhere on the route Basecamp does not follow the route that I have marked and willy nilly goes where it wants but will come back to the last waypoint that I had put on the map. Well I don't want to wander all over the countryside., I want to go down the roads I picked. I have called Gamin numerous times. The last time the guy said I see you have called before, Yes, because the issue has not been solved. And he kinda talked to me as if I was a waste of his time. UUUMMMM I was really looking forward to using Basecamp to explore.
Hope I explained this clearly. Has anyone who uses Basecamp had this issue?
Does anyone know of a alternative program that I can use instead Basecamp, Or a different gps device to replace the RV890.
Any input will be appreciated.
