RE: How to Install Fuel Pump & Gas Filter for Onan

If your Onan is an on board RV unit, make sure the fuel pump for your RV is also working properly, and there is enough fuel in the gas tank. Some Ford chassis had problems pumping gas on a hot day. The fuel pump's fins would flatten out and not pump enough fuel. Not an easy fix, as the pump is inside the RV fuel tank. USAF 65-86. (Onan maint an additional duty in mobile Sq)

RE: 2018 Chevrolet Equinox battery dyeing

I had a Buick that drained the battery overnight. Testing showed no power drain on the battery. It turned out to be bad voltage regulators. After changing the alternator three times, it still did the same thing. It turned out the "new" regulators in the alternator were bad. It took over a year to solve the problem.

RE: Pros and Cons of Tankless water heaters in RV

Your in florida, for home or rv use you only need to heat the water 30-40 degrees to get the temp you want, from an rv tank you may not need even that much, but as temperature range changes increase, the difficulties regulating it do as well. I have used changing water pressure less than 20 lbs to 60 lbs (a well pump system) with no problem regulating water temperature. The main point is to have only the hot water faucet turned on. Having he hot and cold water turned on provides a path for cold water to the shower head, and causes the tankless heater to have less water go through it. That situation causes the tankless heating unit to turn off prematurely, and cold water continue to flow.(burr!) The tankless heater should be set to the desired shower head water temperature. Let it do its job.

RE: Pros and Cons of Tankless water heaters in RV

I notice that some answers mention having no hot water and suddenly having too hot water, having to mix cold water, or needing high flow to turn unit on. All these problem are due to not having the the correct hot water unit or not having it set properly. The correct gpm flow should come on less than half a gallon per minute. The temperature should be set to the temperature desired with no mixing of cold water. That way, the water takes less time to get to the point of use, and does not waste electricity or propane heating water to temperature not needed. That is the purposes of tankless heaters; that you do NOT heat water higher than you need, as well as not keeping water hot when you are not using it. This applies to RV and stick home use.

RE: RV generator wont start

Some times the fuel shut off valve gets stuck. Follow the wires to the carburetor, and it should guide you to the valve. Remove and clean the needle and seat.

RE: 50A breakout - 30A & 20A for 2nd A/C in 30 amp RV

That was a lot of money for being paranoid. Do you worry about plugging in a 3 amp TV set into a 20 amp home outlet? I hope not. You are essentially doing the same thing when plugging in a 13 amp air conditioner into a 50 amp plug. The current drawn is no more than the appliance needs. Your RV breaker is also in the line limiting the current to 20 amps. Don't over think AC power.

RE: Replacing Decals

Most sign shops can remove and replace decals. They can put any design/wording you desire.

RE: Advice for the best printer cartridge.

I learned a long time ago not to buy an ink jet printer. The ink is expensive. If the media gets wet, it is gone. Many people in a disaster lost their important documents and pictures. I am happy with a laser printer. It cost more up front, but is much less costly in the long run.

RE: Carsick dog

Try letting the dog sit where it can see out the windows. People get car sick because their balance detectors in their head gets different signals from their eyes. (they look what is happening inside the car rather than outside.) I would imagine dogs would have the same problem.
