RE: Bad lands area

The photos all the way in the back make wall drug worth it. Mt Rushmore is awesome if you take the time and go in the day first and then at night. Deadwood is nothing but gambling, don't waste your time. Devils tower is neat and a nice hike. I have been to all of these more times than I can count and I will go back for more. Have a great trip.

RE: Pickup bed delete or cab chassis (C&C)?

I just put a Host cascade on a 2021 Ram 5500. I have had many Ram 3500's and 3 Ram 5500's The C&C are built way stronger. I ordered the trucks so I have dual alternators and dual tanks for 74 gallons total. I went with a CM skirted bed in steel. I also had a full Kelderman air ride put on. Best mod ever. Weight is not an issue for me. We flat tow a 2 door JLR. Good luck with your build.

RE: When to throw in the towel...

Get the 5th wheel and enjoy the family trips. We have been traveling with both our kids since they were 6 months old. They both will still go with us at 24 and 28 when they can. The new son in law has even gone and now wants his own. We just got back from a 12 day trip and both kids went. Great times.

RE: Bathroom access on the road

It will prob take 5 seconds to get the slide open so you can use. it. This is a subject that isn't worth talking about. What is the big deal about 5 -20 seconds to access a TC. I can open both of my slides in 9 seconds. I open them at the same time. I am always in a hurry but a few seconds is not worth talking about. It takes longer than that to walk into a public rest room. Enjoy all that slide outs offer, and they offer a lot.

RE: Ordered Host cascade today

After driving home 750 miles with the camper on. Couple things. truck rides extremely well and handles awesome. They put a new sway bar on that is twice as thick or more than the old one. After getting home and unloading . I have driven the truck a bunch and it rides about like a normal 1/2 ton unloaded. I really like the set up. It was expensive(13.3K) but worth it. I can raise and lower the truck any way I want. I love it. But the best part is the ride is WWWAAYYYYY better!!

RE: Ordered Host cascade today

They did take my bed off. They showed me how it was put on and they are making some improvements. They also loaned me a car for all the time I am here. Great people!!

RE: Ordered Host cascade today

I'm at the factory now in one of there RV sites. They will start tomorrow. It takes about 3 days to install. 4 link in back and bags and shocks up front. Dual compressors and air tanks all computer controlled. I will be able to level the truck with the suspension. Same system that is on earth roamer I believe. I will know a lot more tomorrow after I talk to them. Around 13.2K installed. You could order the parts and install yourself. I think that would save about 3K. Stay tuned.

RE: 2022 Host Cascade

I got mine a week ago. It came with a 1000 watt inverter and remote switch and was wired for TV's in the LR and the BR. Also came with a TV antenna and was wired for it in both room. I did not order that and it wasn't on my option sheet. Maybe it is standard for 2022. I was going to put in my own and make it big enough to run the micro. your guess is as good as mine???

RE: Ordered Host cascade today

Definitely get dual tanks, Your 5500 sounds just like mine. I ordered in Feb and it came in a couple weeks ago. I put a steel CM SK bed on it and love it. I can get the Host loaded 8 feet 9 inches.on the bed. love this truck and camper. This is my third 5500 and my second Host.

RE: 19.5 DRW Upgrade

I have no dog in this. But the same weight truck will put more pressure per square inch on the ground with a skinny tire VS a fat one. I have very aggressive tread on my Ram 5500 tires. They came from the factory. Continantals I think.

RE: Host Cascade

We ordered the cascade. Loved our mammoth except found the bath door and placement a little off for us. However, I think the mammoth is the most popular Host out there so maybe it was just us that found it off putting. I had zero issues with Host quality and I know guys on here that have had them for a few years and they love them. I will be adding some more 6 Volt batts and an inverter when it shows up. I did not order a gen set because of experience with these in another TC. I will carry a portable one if we should need it. We use the TC more in the winter and the coach more in the summer. So even though I did order an AC unit on the TC it won't get a lot of use.
