RE: Memory leak with Firefox?

Been using 'BRAVE' browser now for about a year and have had no problems on my Windows 7 desktop, Windows 10 laptop and phone and tablet. Loads fast and blocks ads. Not a memory hog either.

RE: Easiest route from Boise, ID to Hungry Horse, MT

We took the 'easy' (but long) route. I84 to I15 to I90 to rte 93 near Missoula to Kalispel to rte 2 which runs into Hungry Horse. Long, but scenic and we were in no hurry.

RE: Fridge/Freezer door opening while driving

On a previous camper with that problem, I used a simple screen door latch. Screwed hook to edge of door and and eye screw to trim.

RE: Jump starters

Mine, with a sealed wet cell battery, recommends once a month to top it off.

RE: Smart TV

That's exactly what we did. We got rid of satellite and signed up for HULU+ to get all the channels we normally watch at 1/3 the cost of Dish. For the 'not-so-smart' flat screen tv's we got Roku adapters for under $50 to make them smart. (Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with any of the products listed above) and there are others that provide the same service.

RE: !2 vot rocker switch surrounds

Check your local RV dealer. Mine has switches and plates of various colors and styles.

RE: Wishing to stay out of I-95S through Washington DC

Don't know where you're starting from in Pa, but I take I-81s to rt 17 in Winchester,Va which brings you to I-95 just below Fredericksburg. A few miles out of the way, but for me, it sure beats the unpredictable slog through Baltimore and D.C.

RE: Members who have had by-pass surgery.

Had quadruple bypass in April of 2005 at age 62. Six weeks later I was on my way to a 6 week trip around the country in my motorhome. (not the one in my sig) Everyone has a different experience, but I was one of the fortunate ones. No damage to the heart itself and I worked hard during rehab to recover. As a side note, that was the most stressful trip I had ever taken. Started with an engine replacement (1985 Winnebago) only 3 days into the trip in the middle of Missouri and chronic generator problems throughout the rest of the trip. I survived mainly because of attitude. A good attitude will go a long way to recovery. GOOD LUCK!

RE: V10 4R100 lost power on a mountain

Sounds like the engine control put it into 'limp' mode because of a major problem like the MAF sensor. Simple things first: check the air filter. Had a similar problem on my '03 motorhome. When it goes into limp mode, it will not let you accelerate hard and feels like the trans is going bad when you do. My problem was a water saturated air filter.

RE: Slide-out Rocker Switch question

I would say the black and green are from the battery and are the source of power for the motor. The red and white go to the motor. You should see 12 volts on the black and green.

RE: What's changed about camping?

Excellent observation and so true! The times, they are a'changing. Not always for the good.

RE: Anyone interested in 83 Pace Arrow Tear down and Rebuild?

A PACER?????? Now, THAT was an UGLY car! Lol... I resemble that remark!;) I had one...1976...I was the only one on the block with one....took a LOT of flak the first time I drove it to work! Actually was a very comfortable car and built like a tank. My daughter loved it and drove it daily to a local college. Finally broke the timing chain at well over 100k miles. I also had not 1, not 2, but 3 Pintos! Kids loved them and no one ever died in one. :B All three lasted a long time. Lastly, that pic of the modded PT 'Chevy' is insulting! :R I had 2 '57 Chevys, a convertible and a Nomad wagon.

RE: Microsoft Edge issues?

Download and install the BRAVE browser. Eliminates ads and loads quick. Even works on old computers.

RE: 2021 Ford Bronco

Get you some FlexSeal to patch up those door holes, and read your owner's manual to find out what those goofy things are on the top leading edge of the front fenders, and you're good to go!! All kidding aside, a nice effort by Ford. Those goofy things are tie-downs for attaching large things to the roof, plus they give you a good visual exactly where the front corners are. Love to have one!

RE: Walmart overnight and running the generator

YES, I will run the generator in a Walmart parking lot being conscious of others around me. However, I ALWAYS use a Genturi on the genny exhaust if I will be sleeping while running the generator.

RE: 30amp Y Splitter for 2 RV's

The 15 to 30 amp adapters are the weak point of the circuit. I made an extension cord with a 30 amp receptacle on one end and a TRUE 20 amp plug on the other. The real 20 amp plug has the hot blade cross wise to the neutral. If you have 12 ga wire to the receptacle, replace it with a real 20 amp receptacle. This eliminates the weak 15 amp adapter.

RE: Onan Marquis 5500 put out too much voltage

Might be comparing apples to oranges, but my Generac Guardian 5500 recently started acting up and was putting out 153 volts after driving through much rain. Removed cover to expose control board and found it was covered in a thick layer of dust and grime and was damp from the previous days rain. After cleaning the dust off, I sprayed the contacts and plug with electronic contact spray. That fixed the problem. You said you replaced the control board, but did you clean the plug? Also, after cleaning the control board, I discovered a tiny potentiometer which, according to the manual, is used to adjust the output voltage.

RE: Fibreglass wall laminate separating??

My son had a similar problem on his 5th wheel after a trip through a rough median avoiding an accident. Our local RV shop did replace the corner moldings with wider ones and was fine till he sold it a few years ago. As far as the delam is concerned, if the wood is rotted no amount of glue is going to fix it. JMHO

RE: Scrape and seal

Where the roof meets the sidewalls, the joint is usually 'sealed' with Dicor or similar product. To me, it sounds like the old Dicor is scraped off and fresh Dicor reapplied. To my knowledge, there are no physical seals on the roof.

RE: South rim Grand Canyon

There's a Cracker Barrel in Flagstaff that allows overnight parking.
