We have some beautiful scenery right in the center of town. Don't have to drive far to hang out in the TC have lunch while continuing to work. Not a bad office view!

Photomike wrote: Great thread!! I have been looking at selling the TCer and going to a van for a number of reasons. The thing that I love with the TCer is that it fits any place even if the road is a little rough.
Last week went out to shoot some star pictures, went down a trail and when I got out realized the truck was in 12" ruts. With a van it would have been game over, put truck in four wheel drive and out I went.
I have also thought of a 5th, have seen a couple that I love but the dealer would have to haul it to a site for me as I could never drive it down a road. Way to long and high for me.
Looks like I may be in a tcer for a while.
WoW! I see you're in a camper van. I just sold mine and got the new truck. I'm currently camper shopping again. Funny the roads life takes us down. I'm coming full circle and couldn't be happier!!
Cheers!

AF 865 Long bed. LOVE IT!
During the 10.785 years I owned my AF811 (2009-2020), I went through 4 travel trailers from 2015-2020. I finally gave up on thinking I needed a second RV - too much work switching from one to the other since the camper generally stays on the truck during the summer. I had another truck from 2015-2017, so for a while having two RVs was OK, but I switched to a car as a daily driver in late 2017.
For me, a TC just works better. I sold my AF811 in September. I bought a pre-owned AF 992 in August.
Are you in Spokane?

Yes! My last TC (Lance) came off the assembly line right behind Jefe 4x4's. That was back in 2014. I agree about the AF 865... I love it too!
You should recognize a few pics from Riverside Bowl & Pitcher.
By the way, you gave me LED lights back then.

I was pretty sure that's where those pics were.
I moved to Spokane from the wet side in 2013.

I had to make the move away from my TCer because of my health. I am glad I am where I am now but I miss the TCer. I recently did a video talking about it and I realized when doing the video how much I missed the camper.
I even have a post above where I still had the camper and was thinking about switching, how time move on.
Here is the video I did when I talked ab........t it took to find what I am using today.

This is a great thread. We solved this issue by getting a RPod 177 HRE. The TC isn't going anywhere. We like options and now we have them.

Same here - we have a small TT with slideout, for spending weekends in one spot (usually camping with other family members) It's pretty spacious for a 20' TT and has a nice big kitchen for feeding the gang.
Otherwise, the preferred sightseeing vehicle in the TC, simply because it lets us going ANYWHERE. Yep, lacks storage - but there's just something endearing about it :-) (and this is from Deb, although Ed prefers it, too)

I just watched your video. I hope you're doing much better. Your reasons for switching work for you and I'm glad you're still getting out enjoying life.
However, for us the bathroom & space wasn't big enough. I love the van for everyday driving but the TC was really where my heart is; so I'll be a TC'er for as long as I can handle it.
Thanks for sharing!
