Wonder why? He brought Arris with him to provide some level of sponsorship money. I know Haas was on the hood more often than not, but the kid's still young and in the grand scheme, 17th in points doesn't seem all bad. [emoticon]

Someone at the corporate level decided that their future looked better with Cole Custer. Wonder how much sponsor money came with Custer?

One thing that came with Cole is wins.
Smoke has stated that they hope to keep Suarez in the house. We'll see.

Wins, wins, wins,....yes, it's not everything,....it's THE ONLY thing.
I don't know who said it first, but I learned it when I was still quite young.
They said it was my innovations that got me inducted into the Hall of Fame, but it was my first two National Titles.

The quotation is widely, but wrongly attributed to American football coach Vince Lombardi, who probably heard the phrase from UCLA coach Sanders.

And that single quote, imo, has had such a negative impact on the attitude of kids, and adults as well, not only in sports but life in general. Yes, in competitive sports and, competition in life, there may be one first place individual, or one first place team. That does NOT mean all the others are poor competitors or poor salesmen, poor officers, etc.

We now have to continually emphasize how to keep your head up, maintain a positive self concept, and use only the first part of that statement: "Winning ISN'T Everything". Keeping a positive attitude and competing fairly is so much more important!

Crafton in the 88 your new NASCAR truck champion. ZERO wins before Homestead. Looks like you only need one win a year.

There can be several winners of weekly main events. But, there's only ONE driver who wins the Championship. It's like the super bowl. Some wins are worth more than others, everyone knows that.

BTW tomorrow (Super Sunday) Is the first time I will say that I will be happy with the win going to any of the 4 contenders. I like all 4. I'm saying this so I won't jinx my favorite......[emoticon]

My preferred season ending would go like this...

Hamlin wins after 'moving' Harvick out of the way on the last lap. I'm picking Hamlin because of the JD Gibbs story. JD discovered Hamlin, and after JD's death in January Hamlin dedicated this season in memory of JD's Life.

Bonus incident: Joey Logano tangles with Ryan Newman on the track. Post race Logano and his crew go to Newman's pit to confront him about the incident. Joey throws one of his patented slap punches to Ryan's shoulder while running away. Newman knocks joey out with a straight right to Joeys jaw.

The end.
