I saw most of the awards ceremony Sunday night. My wife was surfing channels and picked it up. IMO it was very impressive, in a positive way.

I was a big fan but NASCAR has become boring. There's no drama in stage racing. Points this, point that - who cares. What about "Can I make it another few laps until somebody causes a caution or will it be me?" Etc. The super speedway races are boring - sometime I don't even watch them. Talladaga I watch in half an hour and that's just replaying the crashes.

Yeah me too, I was NOT a fan of "stock car" racing of any kind. After all, I was very active as a driver and car owner, in the most exciting kind of racing there was/is,....Non-wing Sprint Car racing. And, when I quit doing that, I designed and built a racing track, in order to promote local Sprint Car, Street Stock, and Mod Stock racing (all non-professional). I wanted to make money, NOT go broke. AND, THAT'S when I started becoming a fan of NASCAR. I studied their history, and learned how they had evolved into the most successful USA racing association, making money and paying out the biggest amount of money. It's not the kind of racing I like, but it's their own kind of entertainment. They are stuck with some of the worst track layouts, from the standpoint of knowing which track configuration produces the best racing. To me, it doesn't matter how much longer they can keep making money. I'll enjoy their total production until the end, mine or their's.

Too big to fail maybe?
The way I like to look at it is that Kyle Busch will get his first chance at winning his third one. The hardest are the first two.
