I have used a Garmin GPS for the past 11 years and have been very pleased. These have been the auto GPS and now I am considering switching to the Garmin RV 770 LMT-S RV GPS. I am interested in finding out how many are using this model and how it has performed for you. Thank you.

I still find that Google Maps on my phone does a better job than any of my Garmin's and it's much more up to date with millions of POIs that don't even exist in my Garmin. Coming into St. Louis from the West yesterday Google took me across a new bridge and Garmin would have taken me 64 and across the old bridge which would have been a terrible mistake at 4pm on a weekday.
I also did a couple of checks of data usage over the last couple of days. On a trip of about 250 miles, Google Maps used only 7Mb and WAZE used about 15 Mb which is just a bit more than nothing. I had live data "everywhere" not just where the Garmin can receive the FM broadcast and I could speak to the phone and ask for truck stops along the route or where the next rest area was. I "can" do that with the Garmin but it's much or difficult and much less accurate.
When I left Salina, KS yesterday I opened Google Maps, touched the microphone and said "Casino Queen, St. Louis" It showed Casino Queen and Casino Queen RV park as options. RV Park it is, thanks Google!
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

:h I spoke too soon. That new 660 I took delivery of yesterday and liked so well, I tried to turn it on when I got in the car last evening and it won't turn on. Guess I'm going to have to return it. That is why I dislike buying anything on line. What a bummer.

I called Garmin the second time with the GPS plugged into my computer and he was able to solve the problem, whatever the problem was.:C

K.I.S.S. is how I look at buying these things, my 2555 and the DW's 65 are fine. The 65 doesn't have traffic alerts and my wife loves it. We use both in the MoHo because one of us might miss something the other sees, redundant, YES, necessary, NO. Then again, I can seldom even find my cell phone.

We have a Dezl 770 and would like to load RV 770 software to it. How may this be accomplished?

Thank you

I decided on the 660 rather than the 770, it was delivered to my office today. I put my home address in and it got me home without any problems I had it set on car mode. So far I'm pleased and like the size, the one I have been using is a 5". My first Garmin was bulky and cost me $800.00,that was 11 years ago just after my wife passed away. She was my navigator and without her I was lost in more ways than one, it served me well and I've had two other Garmin since then. This is #4.
#3 is in my Jag, I use it as a speedometer since the one in the Jag quit along with the odometer, cruise control and not sure what else. Anyone like to buy a nice Jag.

I purchased the RV770 when they first came out in March 2017. At first there was a problem with it working with BaseCamp but they quickly released a software update and all was good. I have had about 6 Garmin units over the years and the RV770 is the best highway unit so far. The screen is clear and the touch screen operation is crisp. The maps still have a few issues but they will never be perfect. You might need to adjust the settings for your RV size and weight and do not select the propane option in order to get dependable routing. I always verify my routes with BaseCamp and Google Earth. The LiveTrack feature is cool, I entertained a few of my friends with the ability for them to follow along on my route every day I traveled.

The 770 is the third Garmin I've owned and by far the best, after two years of use. I use it with my 13'6" 5er set on truck mode and find that I can trust it to not send me into trouble. Set it back to car for that kind of use. Love the screen size and my DW seems to find it much easier to use then the previous. She especially loves the features like finding nearest Dunkin or Penera. I like the "alerts" for most everything.

We have one and I am mixed if I like it or not, if the RV 770 is not sure of a road it will take you around it. Once it routed us around Hwy 60 about 30 miles out of our way, since I knew the road I drove 60 anyway. Once were in Auburn IN 13 mile from Chain-o-lakes State Park and It took us over 60 miles by way of Fort Wayne. I was not familiar with a roads maybe there was a 3 ton bridge or something, but that was a longer trip than planned.
It gives warnings that my other Garmens do not, it will beep and tell you about a speed limit change ahead or a sharp curve, or steep downgrade. On some roads it will have a yellow banner saying "This road has not been evaluated for RV travel"
Other than the long routes, I have been happy with it.

Apparently the only difference between the 660 and the 770 is the size of the monitor and the price. I bought a 7" and returned it because of the glare factor, I even bought a hood for it to cut down on the glare and that didn't help.
