We are traveling from upstate NY to Long Island and need a stop over the night before we go onto Long Island. We would like to be within an hour of the bridges.

Any ideas?

I'm not at all familiar with the area, sorry I don't have any other suggestions.

Thank you but I don't want to go "into" the city. That is the problem. Too much chaos and traffic. I want to pass through the bridges before everyone is awake, lol, so I need a close spot to do that:)
