Your city may be in the running to build Elon Musk's new Cybertruck

Although just a rumour, there is apparently a possibility that the cybertruck and the semi will be built in a new factory in Missouri or Texas. I personally doubt Texas as it is still illegal to sell Tesla’s there. Apparently more info to come in second week of May.

Then again, Tesla may use the lure of a factory to encourage Texas to allow them to sell vehicles there.

Joplin Mo is offering a package worth 1 billion. Apparently there are existing battery manufacturers there so they are talking up a pre trained work force.

That already failed. Gigafactory went to NV. I am thinking TX would have to green light all direct internet sales, all showrooms for more direct selling, all needed service centers in TX etc before Elon would even consider building the next factory there.

And in other news. Looks like the size of the cybertruck could be reduced a bit. Maybe it will fit in my garage after all. [emoticon]

Unless Tesla is having a huge tax breaks from the state, it would not make sense for them to have a new mega anything since their Nevada facility is largely underutilized.

In fact, I don't understand why they have not transferred their supposedly temporary plants from Fremont some 200 miles away into Sparks, Nevada.

Yah. If we ever get one it will have to live outside. Even my wife’s model 3 barely fits in our townhouse garage door. With a model 3 when you drive in your driveway the mirrors automatically fold in. This makes it a little less stressful putting it in the garage. A cybertruck wouldn’t even be close. It would make a whole new door for itself. [emoticon].

Have they changed the looks?

It has not grown into me yet and there are many suggestions at the Tesla Owners' Forum.
