The Crimson Solar Project will join the likes of some of the world's largest solar energy farms in the country, as well as around the world.

For instance, the Solar Star solar farm, also located in California, is currently the biggest of its kind in the U.S. with some 1.7 million solar panels spread across two sites that generate 314MW and 265MW, respectively. All in all, it's able to power some 250,000 homes.

The U.S. also boasts the Topaz Solar Farm in California that can generate 580MW of power, and the Ivanpah Solar also in California that generates 392MW, as well as the Agua Caliente solar farm in Arizona that generates 290MW, among others.

The new government with focus on climate change and alternative energy sources should take up Elon's offer to electrify the whole country with solar energy by providing for it 100 miller x 100 miles site to put it on.

I've read some reports that are wondering about the effect of that much heat produced by those black solar panels. It's my understanding that they're about 20% efficient so it would seem that they will radiate quite a bit of heat that would otherwise be reflected, since they would tend to be located in areas of normally high albedo.. Just a thought.

All of the new projects it completes in 2021 will be onshore, and most will involve solar.

Its 670,000-panel, 227 MW Muscle Shoals, Alabama, project, its second solar project in the US, is expected to come online in third quarter 2021.

On March 30, Ørsted commenced construction of its largest onshore project to date, the 518 MW combined wind and solar project, the Helena Energy Center, in Bee County, south Texas.

On April 26, pharmaceutical giant Merck entered into an agreement to purchase energy from Ørsted’s Armadillo Solar Center in Navarro County, Texas. The Armadillo Center is expected to be operational by early 2023.

Must be a lot different where you live, there's no black shingles around here to speak of. Too much heat retention. Hmm, makes you wonder about those black solar panels. [emoticon]
