I purchased a three year XtraRide Platinum Extended Service contract when I purchased my motorhome two years ago (the motorhome is now ten years old). I've gotten full value of the price of the contract as my dash A/C needed repair (compressor, expansion valve and low pressure hose replacements), a slide-out controller failed, the front trac bar had to be replaced (worn-out bushings) and sway bar bushings had to be replaced. XtraRide was very good at authorizing and paying for these repairs.

Dennis, I am glad you have been happy with your extended warranty plans. However, I will tell you the damage from the lightening strike and the tire blow out would have been covered by your comprehensive insurance on your RV, so that just leaves the A/C unit that was covered by that "warranty." How much did you pay for the warranty, and how much did it cost to replace. I bet you lost money.
If everyone received more in repair costs than they paid for an extended warranty, those companies would go bust. The odds are not in anyone's favor, just like a casino.

I had a 2 yr contract from Xtraride on my Exec when I bought it. It paid for itself in that time period. When it expired, I bought a 4 yr contract from Wholesale Warranties. It was well worth the money, if for no other reason but for peace of mind. That said, Xtraride is a dealer ONLY item. You won't be able to purchase a contract directly thru them any longer. I used it when I had a lightning strike near my coach. Took out the middle A/C unit, an air pump, the transfer switch, microwave etc. They were terrific and worked hand in hand with Monaco for the repair. You'll get some on here that will tell you it's a waste of money, put the money in a separate savings acct, yada yada yada. I had a blowout in Florida and the warranty covered the cost completely including the new tire. They also replaced my A/C unit when we were in Cape Canaveral. Done at the campground. Again, for peace of mind if you can't, or don't want to do any of the repairs yourself, it's money well spent....Dennis
