I'm gonna buy a 5th wheel next year & plan to keep under 30 foot, I suppose if I must go 1 or 2 feet I will, but considering where I plan to park mine, the shorter the better.

For me, I'd really like a couple slide outs.

Since I don't own one I can't start with posting mine, but promise to once I get it. ??

You really want to pay attention to the actual length, the model number on ours is deceiving, it's called a 28RK and that's what the title and registration says but it's really an inch or two short of 33' (but I'm not telling MV)

Pic in sig and it states 8750# dry

That is a nice unit!
One thing I have noticed is it seems those 30โ€™ or less have a wardrobe slide instead of a bed slide. I believe this greatly reduces clothing storage. Many of the 30โ€™ to 32โ€™ units seem to have a full front closet, with dressers and many with overhead storage.

It also makes them a lot heavier. The ones with the wardrobe slides are almost all "light" FWs, with GVW < 11k.

Our Arctic Fox 27-5L. 29โ€™ 5โ€ long. We wanted to stay under 30 feet to have better access to National Parks. Empty Weight of this unit, as built, is 10,600; GVWR is 13,400.

Looks good John Deer Farmer. ????

I don't wanna be cheap with my purchase but don't wanna pay more than I need to.

I have only seen two outdoor 26.5 models so far in person.

I plan to look at Lots & Lots of them to help me decide what's best for us.

Outdoors RV is the same company as Northwood who makes Arctic Fox. They do make their own frames. I think you will find that all of their RV's are going to be quite a bit heavier than others, due to the frames and they have more insulation I believe.
Since I tow with a half ton truck my options were limited.

Heavy beasts is correct. I am probably about 4000 heaver than johndeerefarmer when loaded for travel.

Winnebago has a small fiver, as do Coachmen (Chaparral Lite and Xlite). Also Keystone makes quite a few light weight fivers.

Let us know which you decide on

That's about what I want!
Is reflection the brand or model?

About what do those cost?

This is the Grand Design Reflection 220rk. Has one slide and is perfect for a couple. Depending upon the freight charges to your dealer, list price is around $40,000. My out the door price was $31940. You might be able to find a dealer that will go less than that if you don't want to buy locally.

I like that price much better than the $60 & $68k I got when looking at the mountaineer & titanium by Outdoors RV.

Yet people say you get what you pay for?

Is your 4 seasons prepped? ( I think that's what they call it when it's all insulatated in the tanks & valves Etc? )

Have you looked at many others?
Did the Grand Design feel or look cheap compared to the ones list at over 60K?

I'm assuming you'll say no or you would not of bought it.

This is my second Grand Design RV so yes I like them. Their customer service is second to none. The lighter 150 series have some type of plastic counter tops instead of the solid surface counter top on my Reflection 29rs- this is to save weight. The cabinet doors aren't raised panels which is also to save weight. It's still a nice RV.
I had a Forest River Columbus 36' a few years ago. A very nice unit that had nicer cabinets, furnishings, etc but it wasn't put together any better than these. Basically they are all built on an assembly line and built fast........ You won't find any difference in build quality between any of the brands. I stuck with Grand Design because on several occasions they have sent parts directly to me at no charge- including several drawers that got destroyed when I forgot to make sure they were closed before opening one of the slides.

Here is the link to the RV's construction and four seasons package.

I went with the chaise lounge because it makes into a bed for my fishing buddy. You also get a small table with the chaise lounge. If you get the theater seating option you don't get either the table or the option for an extra bed. There are no other options available on these units.
