First of all:
In all these years on this forum I have NEVER questioned my posts being deleted or relocated.

Every year I post to the General RV'ing forum my tribute to the veterans.

This year it was deleted and moved to 'around the campfire'.
Which I might add this forums posts are NOT listed on New or Active Topics.
So no forum member or the public can see it was ever posted.

SO, Is a tribute picture to the Veterans now considered NOT appropriate for viewing by forum members and the public??

Yet, THIS Veteran tribute WAS allowed to post on a forum that does show up in new and active for everyone to see.https://forums.goodsamclub.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/29478414.cfm

So could someone please explain what part of my post with a picture honoring our veterans, offended the moderator so much as to send my post to the abyss of around the campfire??

Thank you for remembering Veterans Day.
You should know by now, the rules are not equally enforced. Especially when it comes to sales ads or other types of commercial advertisement.
I think it's just the luck of the draw if your post gets moved/deleted.

And some "rules" are enforced that don't really exist.
AND almost all of it seems to be done WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION.

There should be a rule against THAT. [emoticon]

Well, "Thanks" for your "Thanks"... but you know .... Veteran Day Sales are still running through the entire weekend at many, many businesses across the USA. So maybe it still not to late to say, "Thanks", also!

Observation: The older I get, the less important it is to "get there". What's now important is to enjoy everything along the way getting there.

Well you might reach out to the moderator who moved it right after adding to the thread, jplante4.
You might also get the private message if you allowed them.

I think it should have been left. General section is a good place for suggesting things to do on a trip. Attending Remembrance Services is a good event to attend. Yes, Canadians call November 11 Remembrance Day.

When I lived in Newfoundland, I used to get ask to make a post on June 30/July 1 about the Newfoundland Regiment in Beaumont Hamel in WWI. There was never any question about it fitting in "RVing in Canada and Alaska" section. Of the 801 soldiers who attacked, more than 700 were killed. Services are in quite a number of locations.

I would certainly hope that from now on, moderators will think more carefully before moving.

I think this might have been an oversight and will never happen again, I join you in remembrance.

I would like to thank all of you and your families that were paying taxes back in the sixty's and seventy's for your confidence in me and my service, those who were paying taxes allowed me to receive some financial aide while getting a college degree. I tried to repay them by serving the public as one of their servants. I'm retired from the City of LA now and very proud that I was able to use my education to make the City what I hope is a better place, so Thank You America for believing in me a Submarine Veteran from the Cold War era and honoring me every year THANK YOU!

I can understand why it was classified as an Around the Campfire topic. I don’t understand why Around the Campfire posts don’t show up under the Newest or Active categories. That’s the question I would like to see answered. My guess is that the offense was unintentional, but moving it there is akin to a slap in the face to our veterans.
Rockhillmanor, I’d suggest contacting the moderator and asking him to find out why Around the Campfire posts aren’t worthy of the Newest/Active categories.
