Temps here in Tucson (yesterday & today) in the 80's under sunny skies. No thought of snow or ice! I know, I'm just mean! [emoticon]

Not mean at all.. I would much rather have the 30s and 40s (Which I have here in Upstate SC lowlands) than 80's any day. I melt at 80.

Home is where I park it.

Dropped down 40 last night in Needles. The locals were all bundled up in parkas and hoodies this morning. The snowbirds are all in shorts and t-shirts. Makes it easy to tell them apart.

It's 8 here with a windchill around 0. As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't get warm until it hits 80.

If the night temperature dips below 40F, it's a harsh winter.

Currently, it is a clear sunny day, with a temperature of 10 below zero, F.
Last night, when I headed for bed, it was 23 below zero.
I spent about 2 hours yesterday on an ATV plowing snow, until my toes, even inside winter boots, started to hurt. The temperature at that time was somewhere between 5 below and zero.
We have apparently set a record for snow on the ground on the First of January, more than has been recorded since the Weather Service began keeping records. No record for low temps, though, that was way back in the 1950s, at 25 below.

It might seem strange, but I'd rather have temperatures around zero or below than closer to freezing. It's just more interesting, less wet, etc... I'm really enjoying this winter so far. It's been a while since we've had a nice cold one.

Was 7 degrees F here this morning. Predictions for the coming days have overnight lows in the single digits for the next few nights as well. And here I am, now heating two houses........ Ugh!

Boston area working on a 7 days streak under 20. First such run in 100 years. Jet stream is way further south for this early in the winter.

We could use some of that global warming stuff here.

If I was a younger whippersnapper, I probably would like the change of season. I'll need to wait until I get younger.
