Power - 250 hp at 3,250 RPM and 440 lb-ft at 1,750 RPM
Max Towing - 11,400 lbs
Still underpowered to me(your towing preferences may be different) for the size of truck it is going in and an 11k tow rating, but I am sure there will be a market for it like the Ecodiesel. By the towing specs, it seems to be offered in the HD F150 which is something Ram needs for the Ecodiesel and its dismal payload.

At first I thought 250 HP was a little light for towing 11,400 lbs but when you stop and consider that the F150 likely weighs 3000 lbs less than a 1 ton maybe it will handle an 11000 lb 5th wheel quite nicely.

That should be a great combination with the 10 speed auto.
Too bad it has to come with the emissions junk that dogs all late model diesels.

About the same as the old GM 6.5 TD, at less than half the displacement. Sounds pretty good for a little engine. With 5-6 more gears than the old pickups it should do well.
The 6.5 moved a half ton pretty decent, but 11k + tow rating seems a tad optimistic.

That's more power than my old (new at the time) 1987 Ford F-350 460 had- which at the time had the highest towing capacity available.

Can you say 7.3 PSD. Almost exactly the same numbers. It will do well in the market place.

The 3.5 egoboost has almost the exact same numbers that matter. Taking into account the ever changing emissions BS with diesels in general and the fact you would be getting close to the same mileage loaded/unloaded/towing, what's the benefit?
Sounds like Ford will be competing with themselves. You can have the egoboost, or the egodiesel.

X2-and the truck would pull hard to the right whenever it passed a gas station.
