The 1685 GVWR is 5500 pounds with a reported dry weight of 3800. Add fifty gallons of fresh water and you are at 4200 then propane, stuff, extra battery etc. (Winnebago is similar with their 1706} GVWR just seems...whimpy.

2015 Winnebago 2101DS TT & Tahoe LTZ, 300 watts WindyNation solar-parallel & MPPT, Trojan T-125s. TALL flagpole for US flag. Prefer USFS, COE, BLM, NPS, TVA, USF&WS, state & county camps. Bicyclist! 14 year Army vet - 11B40 then 11A - old MOS 1542 & 1560.

All,

I've been hunting for something to pull with my 2013 4Runner and had settled on the Lance 1475 but apparently I wouldn't be able to upgrade to two batteries and two tanks. Otherwise, the little camper is perfect for a solo traveler like myself. With the available 160 watt solar panel, two batteries just makes sense and dual tanks would extend my off-grid time.

JMO,

Bill

Lance doesn't really make "entry level" RV's, they're pretty pricey and nicely appointed

Yeah I don’t want junk. I’ve looked at the cheaper units and was amazed by the poor quality out there. I understand the Lances aren’t the cheapest but I’d like this trailer to last.

Check out Camplite. We've been really happy with our 2013 21BHS:

You basically get what you pay for. Lance is quality at a fair price which is out of my price range. I chose more square footage at a cheaper price then learned how to maintain it from bumper to bumper and roof.

Ok decided to go the pop up folding route. For short weekend trips I think it will be fine and we would save a lot of $$$. Brand suggestions? We are looking at the Flagstaff 21DHMW

You must not have read this.
