I could never do it, I loaned my GPS to my daughter who just got back from the Yucatan and she couldn't do it either. Is it possible? Am I entering information incorrectly?
In the US there are streets and numbers, cities, towns, states and zip codes - it works reasonably well in the states but never in Mexico.
I can find hotels, restaurants, points of interest but no street addresses.

Might have to switch your default country under settings?

Addresses are not the same here. Street name, then # . . . then city and sometimes you have to include colonia. It's not just Mexico, I can have problems in other countries as well because addresses are not formatted the same way.

What brand and model GPS?? On my Garmin, I have a screen to enter a street address , city, or state. Works very well, but the exact street addresses may or may not be correct. But usually it will be close.

The GPS thinks we live about 1/2 mile from are address. If I put in my kids address I end up next door to her house.

We live in Zihuatanejo. Our actual number is Lote 120. That's it on all of the paperwork.

One of our neighbors is a big time Condo developer/lifestyle store, art gallery, high end restaurant, coffee spot, all that jazz. They apparently decided that their number is 5. If you check the numbers on either side of them, that means nothing. However, it has totally messed up FedEx, DHL and everyone else.

GPS??? I wouldn't even consider it in Guerrero!

With all of our GPSs (Garmin), maps for Mexico and Canada have to be downloaded and loaded to the GPS separately from the US maps. Don't know if you've already done that.

Most countries have a logical way of numbering addresses, not in Mexico one street can have several blocks under one name and numbers and on the same street a few blocks down a diferent name with different numbers and then some blocks down the same street go back to the first name and pick up the numberers as if the street had never been renamed in the middle and the number you are looking for is now in the new named section and the maps never got updated.

For some reason they add names of presidents in the middle of existing streets or avenues, I buess to keep every one on theire tows, do not ever ask for directions, they give you the local land marks, as if you know what they are talking about.

example:

Go this way and when you reach the deposit go right.

You question? Deposit of what?

Ansser: the beer deposit

So you look for the beer deposit, except that it turns out to be behind the mom and pop corner store, and you continue to be lost.

So use the GPS and be prepared to be lost anyway!

Google satelite maps work a little better, althow I have found a lot of errors on them also.

Good luck!

Yep. Huge problem if you try to ship things to Mexico. The addresses do not fit in a standard format.

Thanks for the replies. The GPS is a Nuvi 2557 LMT. It came loaded with US, Canada, and Mexico. I check for updates but there have not been any for a while other than voices.
