thanks, I should have added, currently we do not pay any annual fee. and since I always pay the balance every month I pay NO interest. so I buy stuff and pay it off the next week. I check my credit card every day.

but thanks for the info.

We also pay the balance in full each month so no interest. If you have a favorite airline or two get a miles card for that airline.

I use a Delta AMEX Platinum card. Sure, there is a fee, but I get luggage check in and boarding preference, no bag fee on the first checked bag and a free companion ticket every year. All that cancels out the fee and since I pay it off every month, no interest.

Experience without good judgment is worthless; good judgment without experience is still good judgment!

X2 as to what 2012 Coleman said. In addition, when you get the card, most of them have bonus miles for spending within a specified period of time. When we got ours, we got a bunch of miles by paying for our insurance on cars and house within the appropriate time frame.
