Toronto area Big Rig campgrounds?

Any suggestions for a months long stay with a Big Rig in the Toronto, Ontario area? Would prefer FHU and concrete pad but would like any recommendations or first hand knowledge/experience you can provide...thanks!

We stayed in Fifty Point Conservation area when we visited Niagara Falls several years ago. Liked it so much we are going back in June. We did NOT visit Toronto, but may do so this time. I mention this because it is not too far from Hamilton. It a nice campground and
easy walking distance from the Lake. Reservations would be required.

Hamilton ish area is Valens Conservation Area, and 50 Point (way closer to the city), or Bronte Creek PP. Bronte and Valens are only water/electric, 50 Point also has sewer, but there you can't have onsite campfires.

I'll be visiting both the west side near Hamilton and the east side near Ajax. Has anyone had experience with Olympia Village campground in Hamilton....read 2 reviews...1 loved it and the other hated it. Thanks.

As mentioned in other posts - it really matters if you want to be on the WEST side of Toronto or the East side. I have not stayed on the west side, but have heard that Milton is a good spot - would give you access to Hamilton and The Niagara peninsula as well.

I really liked Glen Rouge ( as I grew up in that area) it is closer to Oshawa etc and the EAST end of the big smoke (Toronto) - Traffic on either side is a contentious issue - non better than another - always bad.

Most of my life I worked as a salesman in Toronto - and might be able to help you - if I had an idea as what you wanted to do.

Milton Heights Campground if you want to be in the west end.

Milton Heights Campground does have seasonal sites but also excellent FHU pull through paved sites. This is an excellent clean, safe well managed RV park with recent new owners who have updated everything. I would highly recommend this park for a stay of a few months as we have done.

Very handy to the GO train/bus system that runs regularly into Toronto all day and is a great stress free way to get into Toronto.

We have used Milton Heights Campground on and off and for extended stays since 1996 and have no complaints whatsoever.

If you can tell us what part of Toronto your interested in, it would be a big help, it can take an hour to go from one side to the other.
On the east side, Scarborough area, as previously mentioned, there is Glen Rouge, west side Etobicoke, Indian Line or further west Bronte Creek Provincial Park or campgrounds in the Milton area.
On the north east side Hy 404 corridor there are some 45-60 minutes away.
On the 400 corridor, I know of 3 (in commuting distance), 1st Yogi Bear Jellystone
would be about 30-40 minutes to the north limits of Toronto.
2nd Toronto North Cookstown KOA 45 minutes
3rd (I would highly recommend but an hour north. Barrie KOA, They do have the 'big rig sites' smooth concrete patio sites, FHUs, very friendly family owned, There is also commuter train and bus service available in this area.

That one caters more to seasonal camping, but they might have something that would work. No harm in trying.

How close to Toronto do you need to be?
I've had this question before, and the short answer is there really isn't anything anywhere near the City of Toronto, big or small rig. There isn't much that I can think of in the GTA, unless you head north of the city towards Lake Simcoe. Or east towards Kingston/Trenton.

That said, Glen Rouge or Indian Line might work, but as far as I know, you have to get miles outside of the city to find anything like a commercial campground with FHU and concrete pads.
Milton Heights is also an option, but I would read the online reviews before committing. It sits right beside the 401 (very busy highway) and is near the glide path for Pearson Intl Airport, so be prepared for some 7X24 noise.

In my opinion, I would have to say Toronto is not RV friendly.
I haven't lived there for over a decade, so maybe a current area resident can help with more current information and opinions.

EDIT: Wife suggested a casino might work. Google "OLG casinos in the gta" to get a list of Ontario Casinos near Toronto. I'm not sure about their overnight parking policies, in general.
I know the one near us was just sold to a private group (Gateway Casinos and Entertainment, and will be renamed as a Starlight Casino), so it's no longer OLG, but it does have a fairly lenient and accommodating overnight parking policy, as long as you do a little commerce with them.
