My 1997 saturn has a manual transmission. It has been a few years since I last towed it. I know the trans needs to be in neutral and the parking brake off. What I dont remember is does the key need to be on ACC? I dont think it has a steering wheel lock. When I turn the wheel with key out I can still turn the wheel.Any help????

There is a very active forum, Saturnfans.com that can answer that question, or someone with the same model can check their Users Guide.

With my '01 Saturn SL-1, I do leave it in ACC while towing. But it's an AT.

On our 2004 Vue I remember I had to pull a fuse also to keep the battery from running down.
On edit, that may have been because the key was in ACC.

I have a 98 , did look for a 97 online but could not find. Any way my manual states for manual trans to be in neutral and key in ACC and brake off. My steering wheel does lock with the key removed.
