Typing an image tag before and after a url isn't real difficult.

He's saying that before you can post a picture here, that you have to upload it from your home computer to a 'Cloud' company that will than give you a URL link to the picture that can be posted here on RV dot com. Companies like Photobucket...which recently changed their 'free' model to a 'paid' model. But there are others out there that are still free, it's just that all those Photobucket pictures I posted over the years now have a Nag page displayed asking for money instead of the pic. Nope. They won't get it. They started their site on the premise that hosting photos would be free, forever.

How much easier it is on iRV2, and millions of other sites, where you directly upload your picture to their servers and they hold onto them for you. For free, because HDDs are huge and cheap these days. And reliable. And they make money from ad revenue.

A piece of history about the forum.

Once upon a time, the forum had plans to host member pictures - including pictures that were not intended for posting on the forum.

The plans reached the level that I posted an announcement on May 5, 2005. Free Photo Hosting Coming To RV.Net

As of November of 2005, picture hosting was still on the table. I relayed the last word I heard about it in the 10th post of that thread.

I don't mind paying $2 a month for no ads and a place where I can do all the albums I want.

Hah! Missed that. But, I was traveling around the country in my new to me RV at the time so wasn't spending much time here on the forum.

You could also use google and add +rv.net to your search to limit the results to this site.

Sounds a good trick. I will give this a try.
